Yes it's over 2,000 miles away but still nice stoke!!!!

http://www.accuweather.com/us/wy/jackson/8...=1&metric=0

Looks like a foot of snow for the valleys and more on the mountain..serious stoke!!!!! Hopefully it stays cold out there and this is the start of their base..

i was just checking out their website and so i decided to check the weather and saw the same thing. i wish it would snow here already.
nick malozzi
i was 2hrs from jhole this weekend, and i can tell ya the temps are more the cold enough to keep the snow around. i was further south and lower in elevation and we were getting highs of about 45. so i'm sure jackson is cold enough.
Schif
You west coast guys should make a weekend out of it and go earn some turns
GrilledSteezeSandwich
They open on November 29th...The new Tram is opening December 20th and I'll be there again sometime in late January..
Dan-
Im debating on going back again if i can manage to do it for around 1000.

i just checked out the pictures that we took last year and it made me want to go back for sure.

I've been to Jackson Hole 4 seasons in a row..Every trip on my last skiday..I think...I definitely have some unfinished business with one of North Americas best ski mountains,,
AngryHugo
I'm supposed to go out this February with my douchey brother-in-law and my less-douchey brothers-in-law. Putting up with their nonsense for a week will be totally worth it.

Well Glenn isn't even out here yet, and last I heard from shadows he was coming into Boulder for a CU party. I haven't heard from him on here or anywhere since. Musta been a good party, haha. Jordan is probably busy with midterms, and I just drove to Wyoming last weekend. So it seems like that might not happen. Hopefully once they open though we can organize a trip up there.
shadows
yea nick. dope ass parties down there. maybe ive just been in leadville too long.
dont know about jackson but high country in CO has been trying to snow for a while. little flakes here and there. coatings on the mountains. some days with a couple inches. then it all melts and starts over. i guess abay opens tomorrow? havent checked on it.

Let me know if you'd be down. Im looking at doing a trip for around 1000 bucks, same time as last year.

Was debating on Whistler, We had a Whistler catalog at work and i saw a package they had for 1031 bucks then i realized it was last years book. So i imagine it's alittle more this year.

im going to be at JH the same time....i was pokin around lookin at prices. 7 nights at the 49er w/ the steeziest room they had (2 queen suite for like $100/night) and 5 days of JH tix + phl to jac flight was $1250/person.
phillycore
FWIW... The airline prices have dropped over $100 in the past two weeks for Jackson Hole..
I've been looking for one of the last two weeks in Jan. and For 7 nights (5 days lift) at the antler it came out to being $1172 or something..
That's single occupancy so you can definitely do $1000 if you guys went in together...
If you guys do end up booking and want to hook up for some slope time, beers, food, whatever just post the dates you booked for somewhere..

From what I could tell, nothing at the 49er was even worthy of that word hihi.gif $100/night isn't bad, though, there are definitely cheaper places.
phillycore
Jan 24th - 30th , 5 days lift tix, antler 2 dbl beds, 2 airfare phl-jackson hole $935.09 X 2 people...

That's about as cheap as you can get right now unless you are looking at the hostel...

there is a reason why thats so cheap....that time of year is a "slow" period. The times when us college kids can go are more expensive, because, you guessed it, kids aren't back at school.
Glenn
So take your pick, douched up trails and high prices, or better conditions and affordable rates.

Antler Inn 2 dbl beds, American Airlines Phl-J Hole, 5 days lift
Jan 3- 10 $1040 X2
Jan 3-9 $1007 X2

Not much difference

I'd personally avoid the Holiday weeks for damn sure.... unless you like Texans..

$200 is a drop in the bucket, honestly. $29/night extra is worth it for a nice room, bigger bed, and a fireplace (something Dan said himself he enjoyed).

I'm debating between the Wort, and somewhere slope side right now. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Everyone has their own choices I guess...
I'm all about splurgin for stuff here and there...
I personally would NOT splurge for anything slopeside or in teton village because you miss so much by not staying in town when it comes to JH
I personally would never spend extra money to go on a busier week when the tram line will be out of the cattle chutes, and the chance of getting good snow is diminished.
I would spend extra money on gear because you get what you pay for when it comes to quality, possible 2nd hand market selling of the item later on, etc..

I said it before...some of us just don't have flexibility on dates so it is what is. You gotta pay to play.

I don't either for skiing, I just work hard.

JH is my big trip of the season, so I'm going to do it right. When Doug and I goto VT, we're certainly not staying at expensive places. When I come to CO this winter to visit PASR's, I'm going to do it as cheap as possible (to a reasonable extent). Gotta splurge once in awhile.

I can totally understand that....

I look at it like this...
The bar is having dollar Miller Lite bottles from 9-11
You could get to the bar at 11 like everyone else and pay $5-6 each for whatever you plan on drinking
or you can get a head start.... deal with the shit beer as your goal is to get fucked up anyway, save the coin and
by 11 you are ahead of the game and don't mind only getting a few more beers or what they taste like anymore...
Now you got enough money to hit the after-hours joint, or grab some late night munchies at the 24 hour food stop,
while your buddies are diggin through the leftovers in the fridge or calling it a night...

There are certain things you have to spend money on i.e. gear and others I absolutely cannot imagine spending too much on. While a nice hotel room is nice, you do not go somewhere to see the damn room. Ideally, you only come to the room to sleep. The mountain and its conditions in my opinion outweigh ANY AND ALL other factors when it comes to a trip.

"

Do you really think those Texans are skiing the good shit??? They drink like it's Mardi Gras..get to the slopes at the crack of 10:30AM and ski on the few groomers off of the ganjala and Apres Vous..I was on the Jackson to Dallas flight once and everybody talked like Dr. Phil....During a low snow week where nobody skied Corbetts and it was closed..this one Texan in a hee haw accent was like,"I Skeeeed Corrrrbeeettttsss Cooollll larrr"...lol...no he looked at it..lol

Oh yeah and also...seriously..in Jackson Hole it's about the skiing..first and foremost..I'd sleep great at the $60 a night Antler Inn or the $500 a night Four Seasons..After skiing..a $6 Burger at Billys or a $35 steak at the Gunbarrel would both hit the spot..At Jackson Hole it's all about the skiing..even if it doesn't dump...there is just so much incredible terrain...inbounds..

This whole thing sounds like my family planning a vacation or a trip somewhere. My father grew up dirt poor and could care less where we stay, but my mother and sisters won't settle for anything cheap or ugly looking. As long as I have a sleeping bag and am there I'm happy laugh.gif I don't need nothing fancy because your only sleeping there, it's not like your spending your whole time there. My only gripe is to make sure the place isn't roach infested, otherwise I'm up for anything.
