Ski/Snowboard Racks?

What's everyone using? Ever since I started driving in the early 90s I've always used the Thule 6 ski/4 snowboard carrier. I'm about to order a new carrier to attach to the crossbars and notice several other brands all at a better price than Thule. Are they all the same or is something special about Thule?

If there's an option to mount aftermarket bars directly to your roof, do it. Subaru's factory racks on the late '00 imprezas bolt into the roof, so you could just opt out of the roof rack option and bolt Yakima towers right where the factory mounts go. The towers are as sturdy as a factory installed rack and the bars are much, much stronger. I use an old Yakima powder hound or something, but the new ones work essentially the same, just a bit more aero. I can pretty easily fit 5 wide skis in it, but it's listed as a 6-pair rack.

The benefit of going with Thule or Yakima, aside from the superior build quality and warranty, is that you buy into their system. I have front and rear ski rack, three bike racks, and all four towers set up using the same key. Not sure if the smaller/lower end companies allow for that like Thule and Yakima do.
