Looking for advice on Atomic bindings

Hello,

My name is Radu and I am new to this forum. I am looking for some advice. I started skiing 12 years ago when I was 40. Over time I got to an intermediate level. Anyway, 10 years ago I got my first skis at a swap, a used pair of Atomic Beta Race 9'16 with Centro 4:12 bindings (first picture). Maybe they were too much for a beginner, however I like them a lot. I do have a problem they weigh a lot and I would like to sit a little lower on them. The fact that the Centro are adjustable make them heavier. I would like to replace them with fixed bindings (third picture) considering that my boot size will not change.

The Beta Race are profiled having 2 longitudinal ribs and there is a plate (see second picture) between the ribbed surface and the bindings. This plate will likely remain there.

Does it make sense what I intend to do? Any advice?

Thank you

So you want to remove the Centro toe and heel and mount the binding in the 3rd picture on the plate? I wouldn't do that unless that binding is designed for that plate. Especially if you have to drill new holes. And I'm coming from a common sense point of view as a skier who has mounted a few bindings and swapped out bindings between skies and types of boots, not as an expert binding mounter.
