GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 24, 2017 Author Report Share Posted February 24, 2017 I arrived at the base at 11:15AM pretty much did a few things I had to do at work and procrastinated most things till Monday. Had a hop ranch in the lower lot and atomic Jeff pulled in around 1130. It was sunny and 64 degrees although clouds dominated the sky for much of the session. First run hit up the corn on X-Ing following by the lower bumps which were the same size as yesterday but much faster. Lower Main Street was a creamed corn dream. So much better than the mad sweet and low sugar snow. Skied Barneys again then went over to nightmare Dreamweaver which had a narrow entrance due to the race happening on razors. For what it's worth the snow on razors for the race was smooth and fast thanks to all the chemicals on it. Amazing being able to hear people's skis in these temperatures. Nightmare to Dreamweaver was similar creamed corn and applesauce and me and atomic Jeff hit those bumps on Dreamweaver several times and they were good but the beginning is much flatter then the end so a few times I lost control and bailed oh well. Went to the lot and had a quick beer with atomic Jeff then went out for a few more. Skied lazy to the falls which was empty and not bad and another nightmare Dreamweaver. On the drive home my car hit 77 degrees in a few spots. Only 21 degrees colder than my favorite boy band. These 70+ degree late winter temperatures are the new normal but might as well enjoy it before we have 36 hours of winter Saturday night to Monday morning. Changed my mind, as had a lot of stuff to do at home I have pretty much been ignoring. Went to the gym. Wish I could come up Sunday, but working. Definitely will be there Monday in cooler weather. I was looking at 30 year mortg. 6k down for 200k ended up being like 350k with 940/month payment. No thanks. What was the interest rate? You have to also figure in taxes which will prob be at least $4k a year on a $200k house and insurance and a ton of utilities. 6k is only 3% down. Yea right Well that's the interest and principal over 30 years how do you think banks stay in business. My parents bought the house I grew up in dirt cheap in 1980 I believe and were making double payments when they could and paid it off fast. That's the benefit of buying something cheap much lower payments. If it's $920 a month for a $194k mortgage it would be under $500 a month for a $100k one so if you're doing well you could pay more.Need to go with a 15 year mortgage. Modern apartments around here are mostly $1,000 plus a month. The bargains are in old places with no amenities. Plus the walls are often thicker so you can't hear your neighbors taking a dump. The average apartment in Allentown is actually 850' month and the range is like 600-1500+ It's why many people live with their parents longer or live with roommates since pay hasn't gone up much for a lot of people but the cost of living has. Plus utilities. Street parking.The last two places I've lived have had ample off street parking. Water and garbage included and where I live now has free heat which dramatically cuts down my electric bill which is only about $30 a month when I'm not using AC. I'm not very handy aside from a little do it yourself plumbing. If I had a house would hire a grasscutter, need to find a handy man for maintenance and host Tupperware parties. My dream is to live in a hotel. I'm getting closer to that dream. I actually checked out what the weekly rate is for the Howard Johnson across the street from dorney park and it's like $350-400 a week. Seems like a lot but then I'd have no bills and wouldn't need furniture, no deposit, free breakfast, housekeeping and maybe even a free USA today.
