Some times i think skiers should wear leashes too... Those ski brakes don't exactly stop your skis on a dime... They go everywhere, and what about the people around you??

i've skied with a leash before when they made me use one because i busted my break off one ski. it was probably the most dangerous thing i've done skiing, because when you fall, the ski just flails around right next to you. with a snowboard, its very unlikely the bindings will release, but you still need something on the board to stop it from running away, hence the leash. with skis, they can pop off very frequently, and having something attached that closely to you when you are falling that often can be really dangerous. the physics of the two sports and how the boards are attached to your feet is so different you cant really draw a direct comparison.

yeah i mean i dont think either one requires a leash... i doubt that ur board binding will just break off and the board will go fly down the mountain

It happens, a lot...But mostly its from people being stupid (trying to sled down on there board or somethign)...I wouldn't want to be at the bottom of a hill with a snowboard straight lining at me...

the one that i decided to go to spring mt this season there was a guy snowblading there. He would tuck all the way down the hill and hit the bottom jump, needless to say he would overshoot the jump everytime by like 20 ft, but yet he kept doing. i saw him do it like 10 times.

i used to snowblade and i gotta tell ya... i dont think anything else helps more for balance on rails. its like so hard to learn for snowblades, and then when i switched to twin tips and it was alot more fun but i could do like every rail the first day. i think anyone considering twin tipping should learn rails on snowblades first

and yes snowblades have leashes. ^_^

never tell anybody to learn anything on snowblades. they are the last thing that should touch a rail. there is a reason why you don't see people going pro on blades. they look like clowns and get no respect.
