I made it out for the second day, this week and conditions were pretty good again. It was warmer today, which made the snow soften up quicker. There were also more people there, which lead to the snow being pushed around more. I went to the west side a little more today. The farthest trail, lenape looked like it was getting thin in spots and shrinking. On a few other trails, a few thin spots were popping up, but overall there is still a decent amount of quality snow quality. I'm one who worries about scratching the bottoms of my skis, but I still wasn't too concerned about that today, because of the amount of snow.

I did notice, toward the bottom of Susquehanna, that there were yellow patches popping up. It didn't seem like mud and it wasn't . Only thing I could think of is that it might be oil from when the snow was made, from the hose lines?? . Anybody know anything about what that might be?

Not trying to propagate rumors, just checking if anyone's heard anything. Twice now on lifts this year I've had chair mates claim there's maybe soon to be change in ownership at Elk. First was just relaying a cryptic comment from a sales counter person. Second was from an older "been there forever" skier claiming more explicitly that they have two different offers on the table right now.

Anyone have real info? Or just the perennial rumors that seem to happen every year?

Today I skied in Vermont without the drive and with brahs. In the house were some brahs. Left my house at 0900 and drove up while drinking some hot coffee. Met up with my brah, who met up with some of his brahs, who discussed their brahcation. Then some brah hooked me up with a free WVIA ski lift ticket to ski Vermont. That was sick. Skied some runs like a boss. Afterwords drove home and drank some ice cold coffee. JADIP WTGAI

Looks like it's been a double digit day (i.e. 13, 15..) in December for a few years now. But damn they've been cranking since shortly after the turkey settled Thursday night and have 24/7 temps this entire week! Any predictions for a week earlier than recent years? Seems like they'll have the mountain half covered by next Saturday at this pace. Hopefully won't all get washed away by weekly warm rain storms this year!

How was it this past weekend? Was there the previous one... Still a few very decent trails then (probably the last few they blew on before it got warm). Ashame, seems like they had to close just because they didn't pile enough up to bulldoze in the run outs and lift lines anymore. Particularly unfortunate considering the weather this week and that it looks like this right now..

Drove up to our AirBnB in Pleasant Mount last night with no issues. House is 3 miles back on dirt roads which we weren’t expecting. Take out from the Speakeasy Saloon was good. Burgers and Buff Chix pizza were stars but the calamari and loaded fry appetizers missed the mark.

Up first thing but radar was all hunter green and sucked. Plan was to wait for a gap and the hourly said it was 2-6. Upper lot was open when we showed up at 1230 and got to park close.

New this year was buy one get one tickets compared to free comped tickets from The Warren Miller film. We’re here with another family and it came to $293 for the day. The one you have to buy is an 8 hour ticket(~$90) plus 3 RFID cards, even though we would have been fine with the 4 hour pass but that’s the deal.

80% of the people on the hill were racers for an event. Up Seneca for the first lift and then we hung on the quad side to avoid the racers. Couple trails had zero snow lookers left but most had edge to edge coverage. Upper Tunkhannock was closed but lower was open and I love slutting it up for the lift. Started skiers left and worked our way over until soaked through around 5. All hero snow and a good time.

Thought about doing the doll house here but no PASR discount is wild. House ended up with a precious moment shrine anyway.

	Over to Montage tomorrow.

Beautiful bluebird day here at elk. Spectacular semi soft spring like snow. Sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. Cool to see that they have a modern ticketing system now although the kiosk would scan my barcode so had to go to guest service. Unfortunately the quad above tunk is down so they're running that slow ass double. Either way I'm in no rush today. Always like coming up here. Especially on days like this

Ate dinner at Burrito Loco Cantina right down the street and it was pretty good. Table side fresh made guac and got the spicy pork tacos. Boo got tacos el pastor. There was a Primanti Bros within walking distance and I wish I knew that before deciding on Mexican.

Ate the free hot breakfast at the hotel and then 30 minute drive to Elk. Upper lot was full so had to boot up and take the shuttle to redeem the passes. Standing in ski boots in corrals on the back of that truck is probably the most technical thing I had to do today.

Learned they had the state slalom championship going on once we were on the snow and it was packed with racers. That combined with those fixed doubles helped us decide to stay lookers right and lap the quad. Those doubles reminded me how much I don’t miss dragging a kid on the MS/Burma chairs at Blue. Spoiled with the detachables now.

Snow started thicc sugar but soften up with the temperature. Everything was running good and max 1 minute wait for the quad. For the amount of cars we were surprised how empty it felt. Did everything on that side besides Upper Tunkhannock. Skiers right looked pretty good when we so the boys on it

Did 8ish runs and went to the Winter Garden Restaurant for lunch. Margarita flatbread was terrible but buff chicken dip and chili were pretty good.

Caught up to @mbike-skiand @NastarGlennfor a couple runs on Tecumseh and Kickapoo after lunch. The kid is fearless now and handled everything grate. Split with the boys for 1 last run and Becky Boo said her legs were tired walking back to the car. Mission accomplished.

95 minutes lot to house to complete the trip to Vermont without the drive.

	Hey,

I searched these forums and haven't found anything in the last 5+ years. Are these still on going VOFS/Elk Legal disputes? Browsing properties and getting mixed info from realtors, info online, etc...?

		Gate is still closed?

Homeowners can/cannot buy season passes? Had a realtor tell me homeowners were holding property in LLCs to get around that!? But Searched the susq. county parcel map and couldn't find any evidence that was true - nearly all were still held in individuals names.

Still open lawsuits? Or the ones settled on appeal in 2014 or so is the end of it?

				Gate closure

				Lake water usage

				Sewer line

				Any issues I missed?

Seemed like a great community... but that's a heck of a lot of nonsense to deal with. (And a seemingly miserable buisness decision.. but seems to be based more on interpersonal conflicts than business)

Thanks! Appreciate any info from current VOFS owners.

Arrived 8:15 47° and cloudy. Started on Delaware and worked our way from left to right. Everything was groomed and skiing nicely. Lackawanna was the only trail with bumps and they were pretty nice. Hit it a bunch.

Went in for Beer and food and when we came back out someone turned up the thermostat. 57° .

We skied the Pine tree shadows as much as possible but coming of Wissahickon to sunny Snowbowl was like jamming on the brakes.

One last run on Lackawanna was a workout, all the slough piled up in the troughs and stopped my momentum.

	Nice day all in all.
Fun day at Elk Mountain! Conditions were far from perfect but pretty damn good considering how this winter has been. Only a couple closed trails, and they were blowing on a couple. They had blown a couple inches into the bumps on Tunkhannock overnight and it skied great. Even in the afternoon it wasn’t too icy. Definitely some icy spots on some trails and a few skid marks, but that’s to be expected considering the weather lately. Run of the day was Tecumseh. Snow and grooming was NICE on that one. Chilling with a brewski now and going to dinner at my spot Dino and Francesco’s tonight. Nice little day with the family.
