  3. My knee is a mess, but i made it through skiing this morning. Called it quits a little early so i can ski again tomorrow. Really good morning, it would be way better without knee issues, but im here, and i plan on making the most of it. Deer Valley is the freindliest place i have ever been to. So many people told me to have a great day.

  4. The groomer skiing today at Deer Valley was superb. I did, in fact, "ski the difference". DV is no JH, and a lot of the terrain is in the dark first thing in the AM. By about 11:30 or so it was very sunny and could really let them run. We skied from 9 to 1 exploring the mountain from left to right. DV has sooooo many freakin lifts. I believe we counted 14 different lifts ridden today. Conditions were insanely good, beyond grippy. The first couple runs I had to readjust my skiing to avoid over hooking the ski. Dan grabbed a baked potatoe at the base while we did a couple more runs. We then rode the funicular to the St. Regis for a couple of cocktails and some food.

  5. I was up at the asscrack of 5am wide awake for a day of skiing. I believe we've selected Deer Valley. Will be a nice drive in our obnoxiously large Toyota Sequoia land yacht. It's a 2018 and doesn't even have heated seats. Must have the poverty package.

  6. Hey All, I’m back from a fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 630 in the PM and it was in the upper 20s with the snowmaking cannons blasting on at least 6 runs including Razors, Challenge, Lower Park, Paradise, Widowmaker and random spots. In the house were Indiggio, Antman and SaltyAnt along with 20+ buses. First run was lazy mile to the falls..lazy wasn’t that crazy and the falls was slick..homestretch was so busy it was insane and the sugar was deep but kind of fun and I got air off a few of the rollers..woo. Main Street was blown smooth on the top half..semi edgeable hardpack upper and some light sugar on the bottom. Paradise was alright and it as busy possibly due to wet guns going on the lower section. On the second run on paradise SP3000 was out in full force and I got whistled at on first corner and second corner I got whistled at and even at a ski patroller not on skis charge towards me..it was as exhilarating as the smell of waffles and teen spirit in the air. I ended up skiing 8 runs in about an hour and a half then went to the lot and had a beer with Indiggio. Wasn’t great conditions wasn’t bad..was ok..a nice little ski fix to hold me over until the weekend.

  7. Smuggs is 7" shy of JH snow totals this year. True story. Might surpass it by tomorrow. Best VT january since I moved up here.

  9. Great day of riding this morning. Rode from 8:30-11:00 with vtmark. Had to be off the slopes by 11:00 at the latest and we run into shadows at 10:55, hopefully take some runs with him this weekend. Some of the best and coldest conditions of the season. Blowing was still going when we left. Blowing on razors, lower park, half pipe run, and fan guns at intersections all over the mountain

  11. WRONG. I love heated seats, but a heated steering wheel.... now that's some luxury I need on my next ride

  12. @JFskiDan, @AtomicSkier, and I are all enroot to SLC right now. Should be a great trip away from the beast coast and skiing on some real snow. Likely will be returning with goggle tans and hangovers. Sitting in Denver airport now, at a bar that couldn’t be more fitting for a PASR trip : Root Down. Stay tuned for updates.

  15. Skied from open until 11 am. It was a little windy. Snow was being blown on Razors, Central park, Terrain Run, and various random spots. The open trails mostly had been resurfaced so every thing was very good. Paradise, Lazy, Main Street, Come Around, Midway, and Burma were nice. Falls, Tut's, and Chute were a little hard but decent, Home stretch got slightly sugary but not bad. Skied directly onto the six almost every lap, small crowd. Razors should be open this weekend.

Make your best guess on who will be the first to: First to crash First proper tomahawk First skier in an instafamous-worthy photo First polygamy porter consumed First pro call out First to pass out drunk at an inopportune time First to clog a toilet First to clear out the hot tub due to last nights beer farts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Oh and people saying Blue blew a lot of snow on Razors..whatever you’re smoking can I have some of it..gosh...they wanted to get it open by Saturday and the head groomer said no way it needs a lot more snow...all the wind today snowmaking production was not great. Also the Urea they sprayed on falls made it about the iciest I’ve ever seen.

  40. Yeah, been looking for places after son graduates and I love Utah, but the air quality in Salt Lake area gets to unhealthy levels during inversions that can last for weeks. Salt Lake City is a valley surrounded by mountains and when the winds die down and cold air sets in, the smog just lingers over the city. Friends that used to live out there moved out because of it. I hear it's really bad for those with respiratory problems. Spectacular place to visit, but I wouldn't live there.
