  1. Very fun day today. Obstacles to navigate, small bailout lines, and of course, "the cupcake line". Rain held off until 10. more ski police than patrons. We hit the lot with some drizzle, which turned into a more steady rain, so we tried something new, which was take the parking lot inside, had a few beers, stayed dry, and had a good time.

  3. Today was straight class, no rain until the end and super fun. Switch was 12/10 with the perfect amount of rowdy. I'm hoping tomorrow extends that trend but only in a good way. Most excellent having beers inside, I think the last time I sat there was ski club

  5. Glad the clouds held off long enough to get 2 hours in. Probably the least amount of people I’ve ever seen on a weekend which made for a grate morning. Coming Soon was my ROTD but everything except Razors was soft and fun. Having beers in the lodge felt like we went to a different mountain since I’ve never seen it from in there. Surprised they even had the bar open but they had 2 beers on draft left, one of which we kicked.

  6. @tarponhead and I were in the lot wondering where y’all disappeared to?!? Super fun day today before the deluge. Snow was most excellent everywhere. Off the quad first thing planned on hitting the sketchy but at the moment still open Razorback, but by the time we got down there SP was closing it off. As I passed by the bottom, who’s coming down but @Benm. Damn! Challenge has a huge mud spot in the middle but a WROD skier’s right which was just enough to get through, so we had to do that. It also had a slice left across it that was also manageable. Raceway is done and Switch might not make it as the bottom was also pretty thin. Tomorrow should be a hoot! Break out your best gaper attire for the close!

  7. Made it up for a couple hours tonight. More kids than adults but not crowded even with only the quad running. Snow was soft and temps were comfortable. Thanks for the apres beer @PSUFly!

  8. There was also a ski area operating on Camelback Mountain before the extant Camelback was opened in the 60s. Big Pocono Ski area opened for the 1950/51 season and closed in 1955 before ski operations moved slightly west down the mountain and the ski area's investors opened the current Camelback. The old pickup truck used to power the original rope tow is still in the woods off Nile Mile. I know they're not counting that in the date but you gave me an opening to talk about ski area history.

  14. When I was in college, I skied mad river glen a handful of times. One time I gave a guy from the ski Vermont discussion list named Andre a ride to MRG..he insisted on stopped at Burger King for breakfast on the way and I never turn down a FF breakfast. Anyway turns out his dad is a big writer for vanity fair magazine…he now owns a bike rental company in park city and also collects and trades cars. He actually sold my high school friend a Land Cruiser…more stories later lol

  15. Last time I was out there I put in for a table at the red iguana, they said it was like an hour and a half, then went to a brewery a.d also put in for the red iguana 2. Turns out they use the same text system so I was getting messages from both, had no idea which one had a table ready and ran back and forth until the 2 finally sat me.

  17. I enjoy Level Crossing Brewing for good beer and pizza near SLC... and always make a trip to Bohemian Brewing in Midvale(solid lagers and good German/Czech food). Also 2 Row has some solid beer for takeout.

  18. Sunday I’m skiing for sure. It’s gonna be beautiful and mad technical and gnarly…tomorrow I have alarms set but if the radar is ominous I’ll probably go back to bed. Who knows the weather isn’t always 100% so my plans for tomorrow are like old people diapers…Depends..

  28. Drove to ogden around 3...stopped at a waterfall...then tried to find a fishing spot, which was a muddy mess. Then drove to nordic valley and did 6 runs. Place is actually pretty cool. The lift for the better terrain closed at 4 so didn't make it there. Conditions ranged from ice to mashed potatoes with some powder left still
