  1. Today was super dope and once everything warmed up it got really good. Huge props to Ben for getting the skis signed and killing it on Razors. I despise the end of ski season, skiing as a lifestyle is my dream of dreams but we did take what was a very shitty weather season and make it tremendous fun. It was an honor and a pleasure.

  2. We made it to the lodge finally. It is truly a lodge and not a hut. We actually didn’t even have to skin in. You park 1/4 mile from the forest road. So we loaded up our stuff at the car, carried our skis down the road. Then it’s like a 5 minute walk from the road to the lodge. There are 2 awesome lodge dogs here also. some pics our little room cubbies. 2 beds per space. can’t wait to ski tomorrow!!

  3. Hey All, I’m back from closing day. I arrived at the lower lot around 715am and it was 41 degrees under bright sky’s. Everybody was in the house except for Zonked, Toast, Atomic Jeff, Shadows, Salty, Nastar glenn, PARidge, Kevin Thomas, GSSucks and Root. I began on the quad and coming soon was very firm as was Main Street. The Chute and midway along with after the sharp turn on lazy mile received the first sun and softened into corn fast. I especially liked the chute as it was getting a lot less traffic than midway so was more smooth. Paradise was decent as well but mainly I was skiing east out to vista to chute to lower Main Street. I also hit coming soon a few more times when it softened. Fun parking lot today with beer, a scooter and another sausage sunday. The temperature warmed to 60 degrees and it was beautiful weather. The only annoying thing was the one security guy was hanging around a lot and he said they’re cracking down on tailgating next season JADIP

  4. Super fun time today..Things were pretty firm first thing, but once the sun got on it there was prime time spring conditions....A good run for not getting much natural or snow making temps...Thanks to every one that shows up...It's a great mix of personalities...There were tons of tailgaters when I rolled out.... 20150305_073109_Trim.mp4

  5. Just got home from Blue The True! Only ran into BenM on the slopes as I didnt arrived until after 1 this afternoon. Lots of parking lot shenanigans by the DJ in the corner by the 6 pack. Snow was better than expected given their weather leading up. Caught one of the last chairs up the quad to smoke a jay while making slow deliberate turns down the Nile Mile to close out Blues season. Sad it has come to an end at Blue for now. Maybe Camelwack next weekend? 🤔

  7. Thanks to enjorales for cooking..MBike also was also cooking and had the good spicy mustard..I thought I would see Dime… This was a good season in my opinion..about the best possible given Mother Nature. Sidewinder would have been nice today..with the new lift setup up 7+ runs an hour with lift stoppages and brief waits at the top and bottom are possible.. Props to Blue for pushing a lot of snow around…

  8. I was less than motivated this morning after 2 12 hour shifts of shit I can’t even make up. Weather said heavy rain wasn’t going to hit until noon, so got on the snow around 945, just in time for the r@in to start. I’ve skied in the rain a lot this season, but this was in a class by itself. Top stayed dry thanks to Gortex jacket, but everything else soaked almost immediately. Took 9 runs, called it a day. What’s left of the snow is actually pretty nice, they’ve lost a lot since I was there Wednesday. Back tomorrow for the last day of the season at Blue

  9. I have been giving the dogs lots of love. They are very cuddly. They are putting out apres food now. We stopped at Ouray Brewery for lunch, mistake since now I am not hungry.

  11. couple terrible videos...had the camera angled down too far on two of them so you're looking at the snow for the whole video.

  14. Very fun day today. Obstacles to navigate, small bailout lines, and of course, "the cupcake line". Rain held off until 10. more ski police than patrons. We hit the lot with some drizzle, which turned into a more steady rain, so we tried something new, which was take the parking lot inside, had a few beers, stayed dry, and had a good time.

  16. Glad the clouds held off long enough to get 2 hours in. Probably the least amount of people I’ve ever seen on a weekend which made for a grate morning. Coming Soon was my ROTD but everything except Razors was soft and fun. Having beers in the lodge felt like we went to a different mountain since I’ve never seen it from in there. Surprised they even had the bar open but they had 2 beers on draft left, one of which we kicked.

  18. There was also a ski area operating on Camelback Mountain before the extant Camelback was opened in the 60s. Big Pocono Ski area opened for the 1950/51 season and closed in 1955 before ski operations moved slightly west down the mountain and the ski area's investors opened the current Camelback. The old pickup truck used to power the original rope tow is still in the woods off Nile Mile. I know they're not counting that in the date but you gave me an opening to talk about ski area history.

  22. I am home tonight. Hung out with friends in SLC and did a little city tour. I was pretty exhausted Friday was pretty crazy at Solitude. Hitchhiked up BCC and was in lift line at 830. From like 10am to 1pm it snowed so darn heavy. Approx. 1pm word was going around that BCC road was closed because it slid and had to get cleared. Then shortly later that Alta and Bird were forced into Interlodge and LCC would be closed through evening. BCC reopened around 345pm. Probably the heaviest snowfall day I ever experienced. Had a blast at all the ski areas I visited. Definitely will be back…

  23. What a fun day! Highlight of the day was waiting at the top of the 6 pack for the rest of our crew, and a bald eagle flew slowly right above us. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect day, and Blue did a great job considering the hand Mother Nature dealt them.

  24. That sucked but they had it back up in like 20 minutes, so props to them for that. Someone said they had to change a belt.

  25. I was there for a very brief 8 runs. Was contemplating a few more only to come down to the quad broken down and a MASSIVE line for ME6. 2 runs earlier I rode the quad and it stopped twice for extended periods of time. Both times when it started back up it had that slipping feeling so I wasnt surprised to see it closed.

  29. Yeah I was hoping to make it too but too much stuff going on at home plus only slept an hour Friday into Saturday. I'm ok with ending my season on 4 straight powder days although depending on how long Vermont's season last that's a possibility for April

  33. Just got back from the morning at Eldora. Blue skies, the usual Eldora wind and light crowds. First we did a warm up run then both decided we wanted to practice in the trees. The snow was great on the tree run. After 2 tree runs we wanted to switch to bumps. The access trail to the bumps was so windy. You could see all the snow blowing away. And as @JFskiDan would say, it was slick. Not too fun. So we went back in the trees. We ended up doing 6 or 7 runs in Jolly Jug Glades for the day. Last run I was feeling pretty good. Then some dick snowboarder decided he was going to come up right on me, take my line and zoom past. I didn’t even hear him. He didn’t make contact w me but I was so freaked out I almost fell. And…the confidence was sucked right out of me. Told my friend that was my last run and she agreed her legs were getting tired too. Got in some good practice for the San Juan’s. Gonna drive to Marble to break up the drive tomorrow and spend the night. Then onto the top of the Pass from Ouray and ski into the hut Sunday. We have a guide set up for Monday then skiing Tue solo, drive back Wednesday. The avalanche danger is settling somewhat but glad we have a guide for a day. I packed super light and was able to fit everything into my 30L touring pack. The hut provides bedding and cooks your meals so that helps a lot.

  35. They are building one in KOP. I had been wondering what the hell the giant poles were and then I saw a sign. Its right where I get off the turnpike when I'm driving home from Blue. Every time I've ever been to one its way too bro-ey and bachelor party type vibe. Only been in PHX and ABQ though.

  41. Uphill day at Buttermilk. Storm fizzled out. Was supposed to get 10-20” but got 6 and yesterday was sunny and nice instead of all day snow as predicted. I wanted to go skiing yesterday but we really had a lot of stuff to did out here in Marble as my snow shovel got hurt his back and hasn’t been here for a while. my dog could just sit outside for hours scanning for any movement in the trees to chase. or up on his tall perch Our resident fox came by for a visit. Luckily my dog was inside napping at the time. The roads were nice and dry on the drive to Aspen. Decided on the easiest lap, West Buttermilk. I didn’t have my watch last time I did it but I now have the stats; exactly 1 mile and 922’ to the ski racks at Cliff house. It was 20 but felt tropical in the strong sun, I shed a layer after 15 min and took off my gloves. 56:25 to get to the top and took a quick snack break inside. When I was going down somehow I took a wrong turn, things look a lot different going down then going up. I stopped to check out the map and realized I was on the front side and there was no way I could get back to my car. So at the base I asked the liftee if he would let me in without a scan so I wouldn’t waste one of my 3 remaining days just to get back to the parking lot. He said, “You could always skin back up”. I said I could but asked if he would take pity on me and he did. So back up and went real slow until I was sure I was on the correct trail down. Whew.

  42. We only had one beautiful blue sky day when we were there. That being said, I can’t complain. Had one day when it was too foggy to venture to the top, stayed on the lower lifts. Had some fresh snow 2 days, not too deep between 6-8 inches depending on where you were. Lots of untracked, but not so deep you were struggling or had to rent wider skis.

  43. It is huge and lacking in lifts to get to the goods, so hiking's a must. I'm sure the locals like it that way. Talking with Revelstoke "locals" on the lift, they don't like the idea of the new lift taking people to the top as it's going to dump all the wannabes up there who refuse to make the hike now.
