  1. Oh holy hell today was gooood. Like,”save the neck for me clark” type stuff. Like doug, i had some google issues from the get go that messed with my head. We stood in wet snow for quite a while and right before opening i started to fog. I cleared them up a little on the gondi ride, but it just wasnt great and got worse to the point they were pretty much soaked and really a problem but plowed through as best i could. I made it to the potty at the top of one lift for some well needed TP, to at least dry the lenses, which helped tons. Anyways, man that early run down the hobacks was totally worth the price of admission. Deep deep stuff, but pretty heavy. Big open field of untracked loveliness. Currently using the hair drier and heater to dry all my shit out. Everything of mine was pretty wet. I need to step up my “rider of the storm gear”. What a great day. Areas in the hobacks probably had the deepest snow i have ever skied in.

  2. February 2nd 2025 Jackson Hole day 5 of 7 Today dawned with 7” of new snow in the past 24 hours and 16” in the last 2 days. I saw Dirtwolf at the bagel place again today…had first tracks at Pearl street bagels and a lot more first tracks throughout the day. A slow and steady drive to the mountain had us there around 8am and in line for the gondola at 810am it was snowing hard with a temperature around 30 degrees and we were maybe 15 people back in the singles line. Amphitheater was deep..as deep as yesterday a tad lighter density but medium to dense I guess..the left side all untracked my goggles were giving me some issues so I skied it a little slower and kept atomic Jeff waiting like a whole minute at the Thunder chair. Next run getting to Grand low vis plus goggle issues I just decided to ski alone…but don’t cry for me Argentina..my goggles got a little better later and all I skied was untracked..lots and lots of it. Grand was boner doner..Jeff was like it was so deep and untracked on the left, well the center was as well..then off to the Hobacks and second or third best Hobacks for me…the line I usually take is less travelled to begin with but just a handful of people in there and that’s where I took the most pictures…I literally felt old moguls like three spots in 2500 vertical feet. Union pass had a bit of a line and the heavy snow on the mountain was more a rain snow mixture with some sleet pellets..I was pretty soaked already…the guy I rode the lift with said his son is at mammoth and it’s raining to the peak. I skied into the village used the restroom and went into ski shop to see about cat poop which is something that prevents goggles from fogging but honestly my helmet and strap and foam just so soaked wouldn’t have mattered and the line was so long and others using hand dryers on goggles in the restroom. I just used a few paper towels and last few runs like 40% better…i took teewinot to apres vous and the main blue run was giant pow bumps and Jerry’s everywhere so I ducked right into the Moran area to the skiers left of the Teton lift and that was really good and not a ton of people. By now I was super soaked it wasn’t a big vert day but a big untracked snow day and I didn’t want in any long liftlines..doing the hobacks early today the pro move. I’m sure it was great later but not blank canvass…I stopped at the mangy moose store while boys were still skiing had an iced tea outside and like fifteen minutes later they were done and then went back to town changed into dry clothes and went to the snake river brewery for lunch. Mexican food tonight I could go for a frozen strawberry margarita served in a chalice the size of a small bird bath.

  3. Visibility is no problem and yesterday woods were definitely in play even before the snowstorm. Airhead you should get out here, you’d have a blast and really maximize the experience.

  4. People like @mute1080 ask why we keep coming to JH. It’s because when it snows, it doesn’t get any better. The hobacks were bottomless right to the cat track. That’s 2600 vertical feet of amazing skiing. Today was a top 3 hobacks run for me, and I love sharing it with people. I’ve had some amazing days at JH, but watching other people experience it is so much fun.

  6. Jackson Hole Day 4 of 7 2/1/2025 Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Jackson hole mountain resort. The day dawned mild and snowy with a temperature of around 30 degrees in town with a couple inches of new snow and 9” new reported on the mountain. In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Nazareth Jay and Dirtwolf. We arrived at the mountain around 8am and were in line for the gondola around 810am to the sounds of avalanche bombs above. Miraculously the mountain opened on time and a few minutes later we were whisked up the mountain in the Bridger gondola. Down Amphitheater to Thunder was some thick new snow and was pretty tracked already by all the wallets and people ahead. Up Thunder and center of grand had a lot of untracked still kind of sierra cement. Up Sublette and into the cirque for the first time this trip..lots of new snow and untracked down into Amphitheater which was beat. By now Thunder had an overflowing corral but we waited once for about ten minutes to ride Thunder back up, then traverses below the expert chutes for some untracked and here it seemed lighter. Back down and we took the Marmot chair since it had no line. We ended up doing four laps off the Marmot chair skiing a couple short sections of slightly tracked glades..here the snow was more medium density. After the fourth woods lap we skied down to Casper chair and I was beat so skied to the base via blacktail and Sundance and like 20 minutes later the boys were done. We ended up at the Mangy moose again it was super packed in there but we got a table. Fun skiing a lot of untracked today and I think tomorrow will be even better and they needed the higher density snow to cover up the hardpack. jADIP

  7. Super windy day on Sat. Went in with zero expectations. I thought conditions were pretty good for the rain/temp drop we had. Grip was there, but now and then it wasn't. The wind was rough. You were always looking to go faster. Wind took all the snow off the top of Challenge. Sunday was just cold. 15 in the lot when I rolled in. No real wind today. New ungroomed man made at the top of Main was a treat. Much better than yesterday. There is a decent size booster on Challenge that will put you in the danger zone if you don't know it's there. No speed limits today.. It was a big race weekend with fencing everywhere and lots of race people.

  8. Stowe, Bolton, and Jay were getting a good bit of snow in the past week and I think more on the way. The crowds in town in Stowe were a mess but you should have fun. Maybe not as rad as Camelsack though

  9. Day 33. Took a few days off. My daughter dropped off the dogs and I'd built up a lot of exhaustion with my ski schedule then all her circus made me take 3 days off. We got some powder and it was really crowded today so I didn't last long.

  10. Way more than enough. Just check yourself before you wreck yourself. If it’s marked double diamonds in JH there is probable some sort of cliff/rock formation as in this short line under Thunder lift.

  12. Hey all, Back from another fun session at Camelback mountain, the true mountain. Today was by far the best time anybody on PASR had skiing, it was so radical. In da house were me and some Jerrys. First run down The Rocket was sick dude, caught some radical stellar courdorouy which was far out. Next lapped Cliffhanger about 10 times which is the best run in the U.S.A., even better than any hill station slope in Wyoming. I probably hit 40 or maybe even 41 KM/H on Cliffy. It was sick seeing the waterpark and fancy hotel house lodge while flying down that amazing run. Next up was Nile Mile which was soo sick that some legends in Jackson Hole are hella jell that they couldn't be there today to soak in the glorious feeling of all those rad turns. The best part was there was no annoying perder to get in my face or slow my Elon skis down. Finally I went over to The Front Four and skied The Marjorie's Delight, The Hump and The Rocket again. It was devastating that The Asp was closed because they are blowing perder on Bass Lick, which is currently 100 percent ice with some aluminum cans on top. I think Bass Lick will be open by February 32. The lines were tolerable until 11 AM and then I decided to call it a day and have a gallon of Yoo-Hoo in the parking lot. I felt bad for those poor guys in Jackson Hole stuck in a blizzard while we have nice smooth groomed trails here in the Poconos. Hopefully they get back soon and ski Marjorie's Delight. JADIP

  17. A couple warm days, some rain and freezing rain with the next few systems. Possible snow storm 11th-14th with the overall trend colder into March.

  22. At least in the past you could jump on Old Bailey slow lift when the line got unbearable. Way better than sitting butt to nut on the main lifts. But Old Bailey has not opened this season, yet I still paid $250 extra to add Camelback to my pass. I think everyone who bought a pass for Camelback should at least get a complimentary coupon for a free hot toddy for their abysmal management of the ski resorts this season.

  23. Unless it rattles under your skis, which is what usually happens. But perhaps not at CB?

  24. None of it makes sense though. Snowmaking quitting, water shortage, pass issues. Aren't these mountains under the same management?? And first tracks are overrated. It's all frozen anyway.

  25. We got in gondola singles line around 810am about 20-30 people back. Bombs going off hopefully not too delayed of an opening.

  26. Rumor has it the winch cat broke this morning, so they couldn't groom Cliffhanger and I guess they don't have the ability to edit their website to take it off the open trails list. What a joke!

  29. Day 32. Short day. Fit in a few runs before noon. My daughter and son-in-law and their dogs are arriving later so they can leave the dogs with us while they are in Japan. l

  30. Woo hoo! It works. It actually works. Only one trip needed to guest services. So Everytime you get a new pass from Blue, you need go to guest services at Camelback for them to enter you in their system too. And I got to sign a liability waiver for a third time this season! Thank God Camelback guest services doesn't have a way to test the pass except for walking 5 minutes between guest services and the scanner. I love the extra walking in ski boots and up and down steps. Blue sucks because they can test your pass right there, so you don't get as much walking in ski boots. Time to ski Cliffhanger. @GrilledSteezeSandwichThis is getting good!
