  1. Damn now that would be cool if I did have those things so I could send em back and get some coin for some real skis... I sold all but one pair of my skiboard collection (my sons) and one pair of all terrain boards (icelantics) They are fun to play around with but they sure as hell ain't made for big mountain, pow, or steeps
  2. winter is one of the biggest times of the industry for me... you couldn't even imagine how quick things chance as soon as the first sign of ice in the new england area... people forget how to drive and crash their cars like mad... then bumpers, and sheet metal start going out the doors like crazy...
  3. now dat there is one bad lil man...
  4. and not cost effectiveJust take Greyhound or trailways F it..
  5. In Kmart I've stayed at the North Star Lodge... that place kicks butt... have to agree with the places in lake naomi kicking butt as well... rented two places there with a group of people from work... great times!!
  6. thanks guys! I just want to get him off the blades and onto some real skis this year.. Although he's totally scared of the idea of using poles and long skis for some reason... I'm hoping with some confidence boosting he'll get the hang of them quick and be off on his own . He has made it down some of the black trails at camelback and jf before...and I stress made it down, not skied...lol
  7. I'm just curious what the age / weight range for junior skis are.. I'm looking to pick up a cheap pair of skis for my 12 year old who goes skiing maybe 2-3 times a year. He has boots and has used skiblades for the past 2 years. He is still a beginner and I'm not looking to drop a lot of coin for something that simply isn't going to get used that often. He's 5'2 and 100lbs soaking wet. Should I be looking at junior skis for him, or what??
  8. yeah Doug is a spam whore for sure....
  9. Heck yeah that tosses that complaint directly into the circular file fo sho'....
  10. I agree... I read her post wrong obviously
  11. I agree... and FWIW why do all the "good" snowboarders always sit on their ass all day maybe they should be riding instead and they'd be "great" snowboarders... because I can't snowboard for shit but I can sit on my ass all day with a snowboard attached to my boots
  12. My Faves, Blue - Paradise, Switchback, JF - Floyd's , River Shot(east mtn) CB - Pharoe, Cliffhanger, Nile Mile Elk - Kickapoo
  13. I was there as well and agree... lot of junk out front... I did get fitted for boots though and picked up a new pair of Dalbello Aerro 80's then had to go back to get my PE's remounted as the sole length was a lot different than my old soft boots.. Chris hooked me up with a good fit and I'm stoked to start the year off with some good fitting boots...
  14. That makes sense... I didn't think about the whole scanning of season passes thing.. All mountains should do what they do out west and scan every persons ticket/pass as they get on the lift... would cut out a lot of the scamming for sure... Then they wouldn't feel the need to skimp on employee perks... I mean an unlimited pass for someone who's more than likely extremely limited on skiing time due to the fact they are working there when others are skiing, just makes total sense... The pass per work day seems more than fair for sure... and if someone called in sick and was scanned in as skiing when they were supposed to be at work, they should be fired and pass revoked.. no question there...
  15. Not enough bawls here to try it that's for damn sure... I never even got over to the right side of the mountain when you are looking at it.... I spent most of my time there off of the tram and sublet lifts... and even played around off the gondola as well... the run directly underneath the gondola always seemed to have some serious powder stashes which was really surprising being as it's right there in the middle of groomer central.. everything off the tram and sublett lift just rocked.. JH just is in a league of it's own IMO
  16. Dragon Dx Goggles on whiskey militia $30 get your gear on peeps
  17. Uh Nestors like he said in his reply
  18. you won't need a park in JH... there are plenty of ways to catch air at JH without a park... of course if you are looking for a park there's always Breck and Keystone
  19. I think we paid just over $500 each total for our JH trip but that was in April of 06, we stayed at snow king, rented a car, and bought JH lift ticket coupons off of ebay for 1/2 price lift tix... as well as G Targhee lift tickets and bus transfer as well off of ebay... smallest airport I've ever been to in my life....lol
  20. southwest has fares to reno,nv (Tahoe) for $99 each way if booked by Oct. 15 and travel through March 7th so I'm looking into deals out there now... I'm saving my return trip to JH for next season when the new tram is into effect... Utah, Tahoe, Whistler, Montana, Taos, etc.. are all places I haven't been which makes me want to go there even more although I would return to JH, Vail, Keystone in a milla-second. Breck was a little disappointing compared to the others I've been to out west..
  21. yeah I'm seeing that..... 4 hour drive from denver... I can make an early season trip out to heavenly and fly into reno for cheaper including the lift tickets.... DANG!!! that bites... I'm just looking to make an affordable trip this year and thought that would've worked... didn't realize the airfare was going to be that high... Same reason why I haven't been out to whistler yet, airfare to vancouver is hella $$
  22. just for shits I put it in amtrak and it's mad long and more expenive than flying....lmao I ain't that cheap now...
  23. Wouldn't that take forever to get there though?? I'm all about saving some ca$hola, but I don't want to burn all my vacation time at work just on travel time either... For that matter I'd load up the eclipse and hit the highway.. I was thinking more along the lines of leaving on a wed and coming back on sunday.. ski thurs-satWouldn't that take forever to get there though?? I'm all about saving some ca$hola, but I don't want to burn all my vacation time at work just on travel time either... For that matter I'd load up the eclipse and hit the highway.. I was thinking more along the lines of leaving on a wed and coming back on sunday.. ski thurs-sat That would give me two days skiing during the uncrowded weekdays and one weekend day and only making me take 3 days vaca time... or something like thatI guess everyones schedule is different too....and everyone's priorities are different as well weather it be saving days, or saving cash, (driving vs flying, vs train, bus, whatever...)
  24. Ok by now everyone's seen the crested butte ski free from Nov 25th until December 15th offer... I'm trying to figure out the best (and cheapest!!) way to get out there and take full advantage of it... I'm thinking it may be a huge score if the weather takes a crap on us like it did last year.. Anyone else looking into heading out there?? If so what hotels have good deals, what airlines, etc.. have you found?? Maybe we could get a group of PASR's all headed out there?? I don't have a ton of money or anything, but this trip might actually be doable for me with the free lift tix, and some good planning.. I got this on travel zoo --> http://vacations.travelzoo.com/golf-ski-vacations/330898 and found the usual stuff on skicb.com
