They are making snow now on the upper mountain... They won't be top to bottom unless temps drop... I would bet uploading/downloading on Saturday with t2b Sunday...

Buzzkill... Only got a dusting to an inch... Cold didn't filter in quick enough... Temps have dropped enough to turn on the guns though...

I can't tell you how much it snowed here since I haven't checked yet, but the temps have dropped and its chilly as hell...

If you combine all the factors and Elk's opening history, I would say they probably won't open this weekend... They always open Susqy, East/West, and the beginner slope side to side, and while their snowmaking has gotten better, I don't think it's good enough to put down the 24" base they love to have before opening. In years past, even with a late start, they have been more likely to stash the snow and open the following weekend with more options. If this were the week before x-Mas, they might push it, but I doubt you'll see it this weekend...

It's crazy up here in Maine... Definitely warm, but we are still offering the best t2b terrain... Canadian junior team, us junior team, and Harvard race team have all been up here to train... Its going to be crazy when real good weather shows up... Like soon...

SRs site said that the snowmakers were going to take a break, but temps got down to 23 and they should be making snow... I'll find out tomorrow morning... I'll be getting some runs in tomorrow morning at 8...

Bell could probably open Onteora this weekend with the temps tonight and tomorrow... SR is in heavy resurfacing mode tonight... Went out today for a couple runs and they made snow up top all day... It was wet, but it was snow... They are resurfacing everything that was open (South Ridge really needs it), and also trying to expand to Spruce for the weekend... Its an upper mountain lift, so that was getting love all day also... With the temps tomorrow night I expect that they may try for some further expansion...

I doubt they had the temps today for that at that hour... Would be nice, but doubtful... SR ran them around the clock on the top 1/3 of the mountain...

Elk had the slow lifts and always has great snow at the end of the day...

They haven't installed any new lifts since the quad, and I would guess they will ride those lifts until they die... When the double double setup dies, I'm guessing they will replace it with a normal 4 pack... Bold statement, but I never think we will see trees or high speed... They could surprise me with this one, but I doubt it... Just go midweek when there is snow and lap the woods to skiers left of quad... There's next to no patrollers and you could get away with it all day...
