I’m not surprised no one wants to do ski patrol anymore. Not sure the perks are that great anymore and you have to have training and recerts- probably out of your own pocket. That on top of no respect, and the amount of attitude and abuse they probably have to put up with.
Not sure if anyone saw on IG, it was the head of Monmouth Mountain ski patrol basically just asking people please don’t duck ropes- they could be doing avalanche mitigation, or by going into the area, you could trigger an avalanche. The amount of nasty comments was pretty incredible. It’s the sense of entitlement everyone has now, “I paid x amount of dollars to be here so I should be able to do whatever I want”. With no due regard to anyone around them or the safety implications of their actions.

Is uphill travel relatively new there or have they always allowed it? I don’t ever remember seeing anyone doing it in my years as a passholder.

Way old but the still watch this, pure filth
I think that video alone accounted for a 500% sales increase in go-pro’s at the time.

The snow today was calling to stay out and ski but the crowds made it impossible. So much would be improved if they just stood around elsewhere. Maybe instead of right in front of the corrals you moved over 20 ft but that's probably wishful thinking.
Upper main was a carpet just do whatever you want skiing mid was like wtf and lower was ok. Lazy and dis were very good but they get so slow in good snow.
Coming Soon the headwall still has primo grip but is still so ratty.
Major props to gss for the mtn dew, no one I know agrees but it's just hyper refreshing post ski and to beer Jesus for the double hook up. I'm going to have to gift you a domestic servant and one of the good ones from Indonesia to begin to return the favor.
I'm cautiously optimistic for tomorrow but another groom never hurts and hopefully everyone went today.
Mountain Dew and whiskey is my go to drink after summer round of golf. Something about it just hits the G spot of post activity refreshment

Only $114 Saturday for an 8 hour. That’s honestly not that bad when you think about how little money is worth these days. Think of it as a penalty for those who don’t purchase a season pass.
But don’t forget how much business the race team brings them!

Transformers blowing and trees falling. Also shout to the assholes putting the firemen’s lives at risk by driving into flood waters in places that flood literally every heavy rainstorm, yet people still drive into them and get stuck
G.Carlson Blvd, 1 & creek road by hanks place, whiteford road and creamery road…. Same shit every storm.

I am convinced there was a sale on homes in the Poconos to those that cant drive in the snow, but insist on doing so.
people in my development are hysterical on FB.......one lady slid off the road into the ditchy-ditch, but said it was maintenance's fault for not laying down salt. Said she was doing the speed limit, and therefore she shouldnt have slid off the road. Thats the mentality. No matter what road conditions are like, as long as you do the speed limit, nothing bad will happen.
Ah yes, job security. People often forget the speed limits on roads were set for safety standards under normal operating conditions and NOT for unfavorable conditions.
common sense isn’t so common anymore.

Possibly next weekend. Kicking myself for being in PA this weekend and not bringing any of my equipment with me.

It is the safest place to park by a long shot 😉
Safe spot to keeping a folding picnic table? Asking for no particular reason.

Yeah. Couldn't figure out my old password and the reset email never came, so I made a new account.
Hope everyone had a great spring/summer/fall.
Skiing saturday so my youngest can try their new skis before X-mas trip. Deciding between checking out Blue's new chairlift, or Belleayre's new chairlift!

Always wanted to check that out. Everyone I know who’s gone to it has said it’s a surreal experience and really puts things into perspective.

Still have the AC on during the day, not quite cool enough in the afternoons to do just windows yet. Hoping I can keep the heat off until at least mid November/after thanksgiving.

Used to drive 13 to a friends family's place on the eastern shore (wachapreague, VA)...always left late at night and I think every single time there was an accident, people falling asleep at the wheel
There’s a death on it once a week, if it’s not someone falling asleep it’s someone turning in front of a tractor trailer

Yeah, if you like chickens and cops it’s pretty entertaining.
