  1. According to my brother who works there, they had a pretty massive snowmaking water line blowout and only got around to fixing it a few weeks ago.
  2. Epic looking day Barb, very jealous here on the East Coast.
  3. I only went to Cback once last year, but for having between 34 and 49 named trails, the place skis very small to me. I was there on a very uncrowded day with no real lift lines, and it got boring after only a few hours. Also, does anyone know if they still do that thing where if you dress up like santa you can ski for free on Christmas Eve? I'm the proud owner of a Santa Suit recently (the reason why is a post all it's own) and if that is still a thing, it might be worth a trip.
  4. Looks like you guys had a full on parking lot party going there. I might have to swing on down to blue this weekend.
  5. Website says they opened with Whistler, Boomer, and the bunny slope
  6. I saw a boat in Trenton NJ today that was named "Summer of George"

    Ski Rentals

That's a sweet link, thanks. I might actually do that too as I've been wanting to switch over to skiing for a while now
  8. I'm alright, injury is all but gone now, real busy with work lately, lots of traveling for that, and for fun too. Hopefully I see all of you guys at Blue soon, this season is getting off to a really slow start for me so far but hopefully I'll get in the swing soon and start traveling more this year.
  9. Best Anti-Injury Advice I could give to anyone is to never ever call last run. "Come on man, one last lap through the park then we can do rattler to cannonball and ride up to the car" sent me directly to the hospital last season.
  10. Eagle Rock blew a snowmaking water main last year and according to my brother who is the golf course superintendent there, they just started fixing it a week or so ago.
  11. Long Haul is the best for great top to bottom tree skiing and slowly sipping a bottle of beer.
  12. Long Haul was running all the time last year.
  13. I miss the good old days of Sno Mountain. Sara, I totally remember the days when I went to get a lift ticket and they gave me a wristband with a cartoon moose on it. Those were the days. RIP the moose, you are sorely missed by the PASR community. For a while we actually were beating Blue Mt. the True Mt. in the costumed mascot department, that felt good to have a leg up on those snooty blue mountain regulars. The super pipe was cool too. I rode it once and cried tears of joy when I got back to the ground without 33 broken bones. While short, that thing was legit. Very well built but for someone like me it was overwhelming. Pretty cool that the remnants of it were still visible from I-81 in June though. When the season really gets cranking, Sara should get together with some of us for some turns and the beers that inevitably follow. Perhaps that will mellow some of the hostility?
  14. Can't go wrong with a WalMart chick. I hear the ones at Target are too high maintenance.
  15. With how much you love trains I'm surprised you don't come to Montage more often to enjoy their railroad inspired trail and lift names.
  16. Scranton is called the Electric City, the national park is called Steamtown
  17. Guess I'll throw my stuff in the car and wait for boulder's opening day announcement. I can hit walmart and be at boulder in less than 40 minutes from the office.
  18. Woah! Lots going on in the Montage Forum and I'm busy not paying attention to the internets. Welcome Sara, as of now you and I are the only people on this board that actually spend a decent amount of time at Montage. I'm glad they tested the guns, and yes it wold be nice to blow tons of snow and get wild, but Montage is still, pardon the pun, gun shy about pushing for super early openings. I'm sure they see the 50 degrees on the weekend and rain as a liability and just aren't willing to throw away money. Sure these things kind of suck for us, but at the end of the day it makes financial sense to be tight with the purse strings the first few years, especially considering the infrastructure improvements from last year that cost more than a few bucks. I love that mountain more than I love my own house, and I would love to grab some turns up there next week, but I would prefer resort wide solvency to an extra 5 days in November on the snow. Also I agree that some of the lifties are out of their minds. From the one that tries to do handstands on ski poles with his feet up near the bullwheel to the one that is 7 sizes too big for his Montage issued jacket so it can't zip, they are a wacky bunch and I'm sure more than a few are working there as a means to hide from someone or something.

Hang a hard right at the top of the White Lightning headwall. Any more info will come after I see a cold six pack at the top of Phoebe Snow.

No problem. I hope you guys make your way back up this way this season. I don't remember if I took you guys from the top of white lightning to the bottom of smoke in the woods, but that is a route that I hope all the PASR's get a chance to hit at some point.

I wonder what brand of socks Robert2 recommends when it's time to dress like an astronaut
  24. Ruffed Grouses are masters when it comes to locating happy hours (similar to homing pigeons finding their homes)*, so I'm sure they would figure out the best times to get past the automatic sliding doors and into Blue's Bar. *Pigeons Quarterly, August 14, 2012
