  1. I know this didn't work well for Montage, but I wonder if the government would ever consider buying up just the land that a ski resort is operating on.

Aren't a lot of resorts out west just operating on public lands? I would envision the state of Pennsylvania getting involved. Sure it would be a big outflow of cash in the short term, but those funds would likely get put into improvements at the mountain and then the Commonwealth would have some income from leasing it back to the resort company in perpetuity (or until winter stops happening in PA).

. Razors is closed for racing. Guns are a blaze. Good night sesh

Is this trail ever not closed for racing? I was actually thinking about an afternoon/evening session this week and getting on Razors was one of the big reasons I wanted to brave night skiing.

  3. Today I thought main Street was just like a strip club in Quebec, Le Tits. Could really let it rip on there today. Mostly everything else besides chute was also tits.

Bon voyage to the crew heading to Jackson. Looking forward to the reports.

As far as I know its intended purpose was as a mixer for whiskey or bourbon, idk which, I was told it's called a pink panther.

When I went to dollywood I went by where it was invented but sadly there isn't anything mt dew there

I may be wrong, but I heard somewhere it was intended to be mixed with moonshine.

You guys went pretty far north today. Did you stop anywhere or is that a pretty easy round trip?

Yeah I heard this morning. What I'm even more baffled by is the fact that we have something called "Tippmann Castle" in the neighborhood. 20 years and I've never heard of it

That's the big castle you try to either defend or attack at Skirmish Paintball. I only went there once but it was fun.

Has management never skied at a resort that fills chairs without paying someone to do it? KSL owns 17 resorts and can’t figure this out

KSL has absolutely no idea what they are doing. Looks like they have 33 properties. 31 of them are hotels, mostly on beaches. Owning Blue and Camelback is just a portfolio diversifier for them. I think they are learning the hard way that it's a way different operation than running a hotel.

  8. Let's talk about the season passholder VIP lines. It seems like there were tons of people complaining about them, right? Well, I'm sorry to rain on the parade here, but if everyone is a VIP then no one is a VIP, and that line would be just as backed up single file as the rest of them.

If I was Blue right now, I would be going over the data from Sunday. Figuring out how many people going through those gates were Blue Passholders vs Ikoners vs day tickets. I'm sure it's a wildly complex model, but the smartest thing to do is to be able to understand uphill capacity vs demand across those 3 groups and then both price and limit your day ticket sales accordingly.

They are trying to walk a fine line between leaving money on the table and leaving customers in gigantic lines and we all know how that went for them this past weekend.

    They opened Razors ungroomed? Lolol

Saw one person poach Widowmaker and face planted pretty hard. Not enough snow for that Tomfoolery

Wow. Of all the things they could have done to help with the shit show today I wouldn't have guessed this in a million years

  10. Today was a day. Drive up sucked, the lines were absolutely unbearable. Snow was great, parking lot was phenomenal.

This might have been the first day at Blue where I would say that the snowboarding part of being there wasn't worth the trip. I've legitimately had more fun on days with terrible conditions. The mental hurdle of fighting that hoard every run was just too much.

Also there were Dino nuggets and veal so today was a good day, thanks for that guys.

That's step 1. Now they need to 1) implement policies to prevent it and 2) implement a schedule to maintain the cleanliness. No one wants to see that shit in 2 weeks again especially after the night groups start.

Step 3 would be to install a huge chute below the chair so that no matter where you toss your trash it flows down to the bottom and gets collected in a dumpster that is picked up daily.

That was prob a good stretch. Many winters we’ve had limited terrain for Xmas week and a few no skiing.

I would love to see your encyclopedic knowledge of past ski seasons put down on a calendar view or something similar where we could look at a specific week and see how much terrain Blue had open for the same time period across multiple years.

Fucking soooo boring with no skiing ......its like we got all dolled up, went out,  shit it was even in and then bam the roommate is home......

Better get used to it. Looks like before this weekend they only have about 14 decent hours of snowmaking followed by a weekend of rain and temps that still stay above the magical number 32.

With them closed tomorrow we had to get two days worth of shenanigans in a single day.

I 1000% agree,  BMDI, PPH, whatever and CBI has a new dinner menu apparently.

Dirtwolf has eaten at mad places in Palmerton that I've always wanted to eat at but no 1 on my list is Bert's steakhouse.

No 1 in palmerton is Chez Enjo. The rest of the spots in town are fighting for number 2.

  15. Unpopular opinion for sure, but I think Super Intergalactic Snow Tubing seems pretty cool. I could see myself enjoying an evening under those lights after a gummy bear or two and some sweet jams in my headphones.
