I think they already have a set opening of 12-15 or some like that.  Now that they're both under the same ownership...I wonder if cambelback is becoming the ksl version of big boulder, like in the Vail JFBB relationship. Sort of like blues smaller, overflow mountain that gets less priority

Camelback as the smaller overflow mountain? I can't possibly imagine that. There's no way that camelback, from a business perspective, is anyone's little brother.

Blue is the black sheep brother in the family, but at this point the parents have finally put their foot down and Blue needs to try to get it's shit together.

I see it as CBK as the older brother who has had a nice comfortable accounting job and a family for a while and Blue just got forced to go back to community college.

  2. The cold will come, the night of Zee Lights will come. Opening day being fun for all of one hour as the 8 open trails which really mean 1.5 trails get boring and/or skied off will come.

I'm going to enjoy one more weekend of sleeping in before the inevitability of waking up early and constantly having beer in my car sets in.

Kind of looks like our cold has moved back, again.  Now looks like cold comes around Sat/Sun after thanksgiving.

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but it doesnt look like we are skiing this coming weekend.  Just drinking.

Just drinking? Does this mean I should stop at Blue this weekend for a parking lot dry run?

  4. Atlantic City is probably my favorite place to hate in the world. First time I was there I was walking to the boardwalk through a parking lot and found the remnants of a small fire with a broken shopping cart, an old office chair, and other trash circled around it, obviously a bunch of weirdos having a little campfire overnight. Then, of course on the boardwalk was a pro wrestling match, complete with a full sized ring, announcer, mustic, and a bunch of WWE wannabees having a match in which they broke 6' fluorescent light bulbs over each other's heads.

It's like the great pacific garbage patch, all the human trash from the NYC to Philly metro just swirls around until it finally clumps together in Atlantic City.

That being said, at 8am on a Saturday it's barely an hour from Philly, so packing a cooler and running down to grab a beach day is still something that's fun to do a few times each summer. I'll only park at the far north end of town and hit the beach there though. Definitely don't go anywhere near the casinos or actually utilize anything in the town.

I'm out next weekend but if anyone wants to get some beers or eat I'm through the LV almost once a week and in the Philly area all the time....hmu

Hit me up this weekend. I'm just chilling and its the first weekend in a while I don't have anything going on.

I'll probably go to one of these. It's been a while since I made a deposit in my stoke market account.

  7. If Ikon only gives you a handful of days, and is subject to blackout, it won't be the absolute worst, but it will definitely add some people on weekends. We just need the season to start early and end late so that we get more weekends without Ikonic people

this weekends weather is going to suck.

The rain barrels were full by 9 this morning. Had to release them into the street. Going to be a pretty lame wash out, but at least a good excuse to do nothing but watch football all day.

Need to decide if it's worth braving the rain to go to a bar for the Penn State game

That is the spout from a metal gas can, stuck in the gas fill of an F150.  This model doesnt have a gas cap, so there is a little flap door that the nozzle would push out of the way when you insert the nozzle.  Back story.  Employee was in a car accident last week, so we allowed him to use one of the shop trucks to go back and forth to work.  Sadly, if we didnt provide him transportation, he wouldnt come to work.  On his way in yesterday, he saw that the truck was really low on gas, so instead of stopping at a gas station to put $10 worth of gas in it, he gets to work, takes a gas can off of a truck, and pours that gas in the truck.  now the nozzle and can are stuck in the truck, its kinda like a chinese finger torture thing.  it can go in, but cant come back out.  Awesome.

Really looking forward to the end result of this story. My car has the same Ford flappy thing. Most things when pressed on it won't open it up, it came with a special funnel that is the exact size as a gas nozzle you're supposed to use to fill it up from a can. He must have really smashed that wrong nozzle in there pretty good to even get it to open.

  10. Having extra guns is probably more a hedge against a season like we just had with warm temps all year than anything else. More firepower to use during small cold windows.

Fan guns because they can use them without upgrading any compressors.
