tarponhead Posted January 31, 2019 Report Share Posted January 31, 2019 Upper goat and upper Starr in bad conditions are tougher than anything I’ll ski in Jackson hole..the exposure always gets me on a few runs at JH I’m sure the exposure at JH will send me for a loop too! Saying Rockies are better skiing than VT doesnt mean they are harder skiing than VT. Certainly icier conditions can make Eastern skiing more challenging. I stand by the PA is barely skiing part, but it's what I can get to on a day trip with under 4 hours in a car, so it beats getting fat watching football every weekend. My flight is during the Super Bowl, then I plan to ski Tues to Fri and fly back early Saturday morning. I know you recommended an SUV but I rented a compact from Avis in Denver in October and drove in the snow just fine.
