GrilledSteezeSandwich
Here’s a good article on Big Snow indoor ski area. They’re currently doing about 2,000 skier visits a day and projected to do 500,000 a year a lot of the focus is on teaching new skiers and snowboarders. https://coloradosun.com/2020/01/09/big-snow-new-jersey-ski-industry-indoor/

It is an interesting article about the place and I look forward to drinking there after skiing this summer.
Shadows
the amount of overly long hyphens in that article is frustrating. interesting read though. I think 'entrepreneur' is the wrong term but ok. lets go ski it
indiggio
I bet they do a lot of whistling at fast skiers.
momskeeztoo
I’d probably try it, but only in the summer.

momskeeztoo
I understand what they’re trying to do. It’s just not the same as being outside, with conditions that can vary daily or hourly.

Skiing in 47 different snow conditions repeatedly and being competent in them is something that takes decades

EdBacon
Big Snow Indoor Ski Resort sounds like what somebody would call their cocaine party. 1
rgrwilco
I wonder how much longer campgaw will stay open. Their demographic is people in the city and urban nj areas looking for an easy place to learn, and big snow seems poised to capture those people. Campgaw has not much more vertical (240 vs 160), has more expensive tix (good for a longer time, but how long do people spend somewhere this size), is further from NYC and is generally gonna have worse weather and conditions. The main thing Campgaw would seem to have going for it as a differentiator is snow tubing (kind of surprised they did not include tubing at Big Snow). I might have to stop on the way home from hunter one day for a few turns just in case.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ski2Live Live2Ski
Big Snow has a park too. Didn't see any of those windy trails open the one time I went to Campgaw (when I worked about 15 min away). Basically was just one wide flat gentle slope at that time.
