Belleayre 11/22/25

The original plan was to head to Killington to break in my ikon pass, however due to recent car trouble and the length of the drive, I felt it was a better idea to cut the drive in half and spend a bit of money at Belleayre. They had about 4 routes down from the top. Conditions were decent but it warmed up fast and by noon everything was pretty much chopped up. Up top there was actually some fresh snow which was nice.

 

Crowds? Not that bad. Maybe a minute wait here or there for the gondola. The bigger issue was almost everyone there had never seen snow before let alone click into a pair of skis, but due to the gondola they managed to get to the top of the mountain, but instead of using the summit learning area, decided to try and get down the other trails. It did not work out for them and and made for some annoying turns as the crowds built. 

They also thought standing on the blind side of the drops off the skier bridges was a great idea. After colliding with one and cutting my hand open, I decided it was time to leave.

We noticed the same Friday, usually early and late season brings out more competent riders for the most part but the gaper quotient seemed pretty high.

Deciding between Belle and Hunter for tomorrow. Will def do Hunter if they get a second run open as it’s on my pass, and it’s a longer run - particularly as bottom third of Belleayre is so flat I often don’t do the full vert there. Not sure what my call will be if Hunter remains one run only.

I didn’t even know you were unemployed. Congrats, you’re prob close to retirement age

I only have 14 more years to go until I get a senior discount at the weed dispensary.
