Solitude 12/28/25

Hey all,

I’m back from another morning at Solitude mountain, the only mountain I have unlimited IKON access. I arrived at the lot on the bus at 7:15am and it was 12 degrees with bluebird skies. In the house was me along with a few different cliques unknown to me.

Up the Moonbeam, looks like a few more inches of fresh fell overnight.  Took an easy run back to sample the Western groomer and some of the fresh along the sides, nice!

Over to the Apex, lapped Wall Street to Main Street until 9 when the Sunrise would open.  Lower Main Street center was scraped off, so stuck to both sides where there was still some freshies to be found.

Rode up the Sunrise with a couple who said “Watch your head” as they pulled down the safety bar. Am I back East?  After some chat, they’re from New York and I told them I figured you must be, pulling down the safety bar.  We chatted about that and where they ski back East.

SP dropped the rope on Sensation which was all fresh on bumps which was a ton of fun but my knee was annoyed from yesterday’s powder and my lack of exercise, so peaced out at 10.

Caught some interesting parking lot tailgating going on on the way out.  They had the tunes cranking!

I didn't know how it was gonna work out, but the first stop on the run up Big Cottonwood to Solitude & Brighton is minutes from home, so why not?
Don't have to deal with parking reservations, etc. and let the driver deal with the snow in the canyon.
The busses have chains and get priority if there's a road closure, so I just sit back and relax on the ride.

I want one of those shirts!
