New Year’s Day 2026…cold and quiet

Hey All,

 

I’m back from another morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am to a skiff of new snow.  It was in the upper teens under partly sunny skys with pretty strong winds.  In the house were BenM, PARidge, MBike Mike, Mute, Atomic Jeff, Schifdawg, JFDan, Mixilplix, Harold Kumar and Kumar. 
 

First run on Razors with strong winds and snowmaking snow blasting from challenge coated my goggles and tough to ski..snow was alright I guess. I then went to Switchback which was nice and a few pockets of untracked.  I kept lapping switchback as it was pleasant and mostly empty. Again crowds were light and only a few people on most runs.  
 

I mainly rode the OG six pack but I did make it over to the Quad and coming soon which was empty and super nice chalky snow, I thought I was on Bivoac at Jackson hole for a second. Lower paradise was packed with people.  Cold parking lot the sun did come out a little, I didn’t stick around for the grilling as I was cold and not in a beer drinking mood.  
 

Now back in town and wow nobody on the roads and at Wegners now and never seen the parking lot so empty.  While the world is just waking up a lot of us already got a ski day in and some beers down.  JADIP

 

9am opening tomorrow so can sleep in.

New year new Blue. Conditions were excellent today and consistent throughout. Everything was good to awesome. Free fall was probably the best of the lot. As was NMDW...first runs on that and it was prime NM D Dubb sans features. My toes are still numb. Awesome day

Took an extra 45 mins to get there after getting stuck behind two plow lines, but got there and thought conditions were very nice.  Coldest day of the season for me
