Thanks Ridge for starting the report. I’m at the gas station in Laureys station to pee. Whoa mama after the Triechlers bridge is a complete mess. Lots of ice and cars backed up and cars and trucks slid off to the side spinning their wheels.  My Subie impressed me.

Hey all,

I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and only a skiff of snow on the roads the last part of the drive but it was snowing upon arrival.  In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Johnny Law, JohnnyLaws brother, JFDan, PARidge, Mute, Enjorales, Bethlehem ford guy, Harold, Kumar, Schifdawg, Nastar Glenn, BenM, Falco, Charles, Mixilplix, MBike Mike, Dirtwolf and many others.

I first skied Challenge which had about an inch of pow pow which skied great on the more solid groomed surface below. Next I went right to X-ing even though there was fresh in upper Main Street..I had to slut it up on x-ing before the masses got at the swaths of untracked.  Upper Main Street was good, lower already chopped up but not bad.  I skied Main Street again then Coming soon which was busy and nice with lots of fresh on the in run and some piles of pow on the run.  The snow on the flats whether wax was on skis or wax off skis was slow as expected.

BenM and I skied the sleepy hollow glades which was dust on crust, lazy was alright the falls still has random divots and holes.  I skied more x-ing to Main Street and ended on coming soon on the far right side, the brushier the better the snow and I hit one rock and one submerged iceberg.  Fun parking lot as it’s always nice being outside in falling snow.

Sometime while in the lot Blue mountain drive closed but we got word from Charles that the Blue mountain drive was open southbound over the mountain.

As mentioned earlier the drive home was spicier than I expected.  I skid twice between Danielsville and cherryville, no big deal as the road was empty.  Then from cherryville to the treichlers bridge I crawled as slow people ahead and guy behind me in a Honda pilot was tailgating me so bad.

Going across the treichlers bridge I saw an oil or gas truck off the side of the road and 6-7 cars crawling by at the crest of the hill…a little front real drive sedan was stuck spinning tires on the side of the road and a few cars in front was going sideways as it passed the stopped cars.  From a standstill I was able to navigate through the carnage, I stopped at the mini market in Laureys station to pee and get my bearings.  The rest of the drive into Whitehall wasn’t bad with caution but a jacknifed tractor trailer by Sheetz had 145 closed northbound.

I thought I was home free then the ramp onto 22 was solid sheet of ice yet I didn’t slip then getting off 22 at Kuhnsville the ramp was rutted up deep snow with two tractor trailers off to the side and a driver waving people to take it slow.

When the new snow is groomed tonight, it should make for a nice consistent surface across the entire mountain tomorrow AM

When I left there was a massive line of cars turning into the lower lot from the north.

Days like this are just sooo much fun and good for the soul.

I had no problems going up an over the mountain. Saw that tanker truck on the other side of the bridge. It was mildly spicy gettin through there. Also saw the stuff at Sheetz goin down. I made a right and went the back way to Walbert ave. Pretty uneventful drive, but did see a lot of carnage on the way home..

Mad titty sparkles kinda day, I feel like it was more than the 3 inches they predicted and while a schooch wet it made for mad nice untracked turns.

It's like mixil said, snow is good for the soul and today was mad good for the soul..........

I wanted to stick around and enjoy the snow but it's probably good my brother wanted to go. I am just getting home which has to be 3hrs +, every road has some shit dick trucker stuck both going up and down. They all got off 78 thinking they were slick and could go around only to find unplowed Werleys Corner type roads and my God did they shit the bed.

That’s the play..it’s always the others on the road it’s amazing that most people can’t look at a radar or understand go faster uphill in snow and slower downhill if unsure if icy sheesh and most do opposite.

First chair Quad with a boarder  #3 on the leaderboard he thought, didn’t get his name. He took the right side slightly ahead and I was on the left of coming soon. Towards the bottom he checked his speed hard before the merge…he literally disappeared in a cloud. Ventured west and everything was great met up with the bumpers for a few runs but it was hard to recognize jackets because everyone was coated. I had to stop inside to use the hand dryer to clear my goggles twice. I was glad I skied yesterday and knew that the skiers right of coming soon had freshies underneath. I Camped out the rest of my day there when things got skied off. Awesome day!

Shout out to the lifties running the quad .They had the lines running smoothly without any empty chairs.

Crazy busy when I left. The men’s room by the bar had a line out into the hall.

3 hrs drive back to reading is nuts.  I78 being shut down probably didn't help as I'm sure people were detouring to the other roads.

I'm bummed I didn't make it up this weekend but a lot going on and I haven't been feeling great.  Hopefully doing a week in New England starting next Saturday

It was a bad wreck! They had to cut the roof off of a vehicle to get someone out.
