Popular Post toast21602 Posted January 25 Popular Post Report Posted January 25 (edited) After an uneventful drive, other than crying the whole way in solidarity with Shopey because blue was closed, I met up with @Mixilplix at the lot for Pulpit/Pinnacle at 6:30. We were the only people there. Geared up, head lamps on, and off we went. 8° at the start was chilly but with the effort we were shedding layers quickly. Much different conditions than Monday when I was there. First up and first down for the day. Saw my friend hiking up at the bridge on the way down but other than that the place was empty. Turns should be good there for the rest of the day and tomorrow. Enjoy the snow and be safe out there. Turns out you can still ski when a business closes. Johnny Law Posted January 25 Report Posted January 25 Sick bird !!!!!!! It was awesome snow for PA, light and dry. It made for excellent skining. Surprised you didn't run into atomic and dirt wolf.

Hopefully this massive sleet accumulation doesn't fuck things up too much. In PA, its mostly the enjoyment of the effort and being outdoors than the actual turns made after. 1

Steepest in the east. Probably a triple black diamond if it were a trail. Then there's an old gas pipeline cut about 2 miles down the SRT. Skin up and ski down. Decent headwall at the top, the rest should be cruising. I'm thinking nobody will have touched any of this tmw whereas Pulpit Rock might have people on it. Can always go over there anyway if the rest looks like a no go. Edited January 26 by EdBacon 1

EdBacon Posted January 26 Report Posted January 26 On second thought. I just got done scraping two inches of crust off my driveway. Makes me a little wary right now.

Heard a teaser for next Sunday 1’-2’ I’ve got mixed feelings, I really want to ski a line in Jim Thorpe I haven’t done in 12 years. But on the other hand I just spent 10hrs clearing snow.

I feel that. Thankfully if these temps hold up we might be able to get out the day after. 1
