Popular Post GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 27 Popular Post Report Posted January 27 Hey All, I’m posted up at the 49er in Jackson Wyoming. Me and Atomic Jeff arrived about two and a half hours ago and JFDan, NMSki, Nazareth Jay and Gary(Florida guy) arrive Thursday. It’s warm as heck here about 30 degrees barely need a jacket. Our flight left on time and arrived on time and I got upgraded to first class which means warm nuts… After arriving we went to Snake River Brewery for beer and nachos. Here are some pics I took today. 10 1

saltyant Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 This is grate! How were your first class warm nuts? I wonder if Atomic Skier will get any photos on a credit card from skiing all the perder?? Don't forget to post a report and send us a postcard 1
theprogram4 Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Have a nice trip and get some pow for me! It’s wild this is the second year in a row I was supposed to be in JHole while you guys were there. Lift tix, flights, condo, and rental car all booked. Last year trip got cancelled 15 hours before the flight took off. This year it got cancelled three weeks ago. Good thing for trip insurance. Fortunately, I potentially have a solo trip in a month. Research begins tonight
RidgeRacer Posted January 28 Report Posted January 28 Looking forward to the annual tradition of reading the J Hole report. Have a great time. Hope Ullr (or whatever his name is) smiles upon you all this week. Hope to get back there with y'all soon! 3

But yeah earlier I was thinking a solid 30%+ of my ski days here have been pow days and I’ve had a few trips before with no fresh snow. The non pow days are chill. We aren’t even leaving for the mountain until 810 today and my biggest worry is not over dressing. 1

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 28 Author Report Posted January 28 My spirits were not great leading up to this trip with knee pain, work stress and just anxiety. Finally last night walking to the loaf and jug I felt a little peace and clarity. People stopping at crosswalks for pedestrians, girls with names like Sunshine and people who travelled all the way from places like Puerto Rico and Poland just to serve me. I was thinking I’ve spent almost 3% of my adult life here in JH pretty cool. Time to get dressed for day 1. 8

I'm sure! Coming here through Southwest Wyoming, the sights were spectacular. Driving cross-country you get to see all sorts of interesting stuff. Highly recommended before it's too late. 3

Popular Post GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 28 Author Popular Post Report Posted January 28 January 28th 2026 Hey All, I’m back from Day one at Jackson hole mountain resort, my 22nd trip here and I just used my fingers to count out the number of trips I’ve been here since I’ve been here every year from age 22 to 46 except when I was 23, 24 and 41. Me and atomic Jeff arrived at the village lot around 830am and it was around 10 degrees under overcast sky’s. We chatted with guy parked to us from Atlanta and I mentioned the Panda song about having broads in Atlanta. We were surprised to see a pretty long gondola line, mostly race kids who usually start on teewinot but not today. I rode the gondy with two guys from Short Hills NJ who were on my plane yesterday and three race kids from Park city doing super G. First run on Amphitheater had ok snow but very flat light, it was like a midwestern groomer. Next was Thunder which had been groomed and a very decent snow quality..steepest run I’ve skied so far this season, amphitheater which is the easiest run is the same steepness as razors and single blue while Thunder is a single Black and usually bumps. Up Thunder again and skied Laramie bowl which was a little slick initially but pretty grippy. Then up Sublette to Rendevous trail which was alright back to sublette up Sublette again I skied R trail again and atomic Jeff skied Laramie bowl then skied back to Thunder up Sublette and atomic Jeff skied grand and I skied Jerry’s way to the gully back to amphitheater. Up Thunder again and Nez Perce over to the Casper area. Casper was the only busy area on the mountain but we found sleeping Indian to be empty and real good snow with some texture to it. In casper I skied one of the stay parks, wide open and the run right under the Casper lift. We then headed back to Thunder, up Thunder down Laramie bowl again still decent and atomic Jeff went to the hobacks I skied R trail and union pass traverse to the base, pounded a dragonfruit vitamin water from general store, met atomic Jeff at the car and then we ate lunch in a very empty Mangy moose. I didn’t take many pictures today but took the camara out for the PASRs. The other four arrive tomorrow afternoon. JADIJH 13
