PSUFrankenstein Posted January 31 Report Posted January 31 (edited) Starting my trip with a few beers and a pizza at treehouse in Deerfield. Staying in Lebanon NH tonight. I think my plan is Tenney Mountain tomorrow, cannon Monday, black mountain NH Tuesday, camden snow bowl Maine Wednesday, Saddleback Thursday, Burke Friday and then start heading south...planning to hit mohawk mountain in CT Saturday morning on the way back Edited January 31 by PSUFrankenstein 5 1 2
indiggio Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 Sounds like a boner if a trip! Have a grate time and dress like an astronaut! 1
Popular Post PSUFrankenstein Posted February 1 Author Popular Post Report Posted February 1 Had an upgraded room last night at fireside inn with a massage recliner and fireplace. Tenney is great. Taking a lunch/beer/bloody Mary break and then back out...report and more pics later 10
Popular Post PSUFrankenstein Posted February 1 Author Popular Post Report Posted February 1 Rode Tenney from 10 to 3 with an hour break for lunch. Really cool mountain but they only have one top to bottom lift and it's slow and cold. Variable conditions, some firm groomers but mostly pretty good. I mainly hit the glades and there was a soft bump run that was really good called sweet William. Great vibe, indy place I'd compare to a more mellow Magic mountain. Had a beer from last chair brewing, along with a bloody Mary and chicken sandwich with onion rings. I realized last chair brewing was like a mile from the mountain, so I stopped for a flight. Awesome place, ski themed brewery with old skis and lift memorabilia everywhere. Highly recommend if you're in northern NH 7 3
Icecoast Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 You are doing what I always plan on in my head each time I buy an indy pass. Hellyeah! 3 1
EdBacon Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 How do you manage lodging when you bounce around between mountains?

Usually just book as the week goes on. I booked all chain hotels with free cancelations along my route this time in the event that my plans change Cannon is incredibly good. Schif Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 This trip looks amazing. Glad you're getting after it!! 1
PSUFrankenstein Posted February 3 Author Report Posted February 3 (edited) Rode cannon from 9 to 1 today. Did 5 top to bottom runs...hit profile which is a steep groomer and was untouched...wasn't open last time I was here. One bump run, short fuse to lower hard scrabble which was nice and soft. Then upper and middle hardscrabble which was a long semi steep bump run. Also popped into global warming glade which was good. After that I switched boards and back to the top. Down Taft slalom and then hiked up the saddle to Mittersill side. Did a long groomed run and then hit the race trail, Taft training slope...i was the only person on that which was great. Two more runs back up the double to hit 2 glade runs, idiots delight and candy land. Both opened up into north slope which had some powder left. Then did cannonball, a narrow ungroomed trail to dragons drop and cut back to the main base area. Did one more run up the mid mountain lift and cut down zoomer...finished at cannon with a Lawsons little sip at cannonball pub. Edited February 3 by PSUFrankenstein 6 1
Popular Post PSUFrankenstein Posted February 3 Author Popular Post Report Posted February 3 I was chatting with the guy at the hotel front desk when checking in yesterday, who snowboards. He gave me a discount code for waterville valley so I left cannon around 1 15 and got to waterville a little before 2. Waterville was cool but mostly icy groomers...probably would've been better to stay at Cannon but I wanted to check it out. Only took a few pics...they had a banked slalom course that was fun. Some stuff had closed later in the day for snowmaking. Did 7 or 8 runs...then back to the hotel to get changed. Stopped at Woodstock inn brewery for a beer, then dinner and two moscow mules at common man in Lincoln. 9 1
trackbiker Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 Great report. That's a lot of driving even without going to Camden Snow Bowl. Why the discount code to Waterville? It's on the IndyPass.

Empty, warm, and sunny. 5 1
PSUFrankenstein Posted February 3 Author Report Posted February 3 Great so far but glades and natural snow trails need to soften up...so that means time for a mid mountain beer and fondue break 4 1
toast21602 Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 You are the king of Indy trips. Loving this report! 🙌 1 1
Johnny Law Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 Sick trip with a ton of little gems ! Waterville has a serious bump scene, they hosted the DV series this year as DV doesn't have enough snow. IIRC its Wayne Wongs hang out too. 1 1
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 Going to a second ski area at 2pm is ambitious wow just wow and how much was lift ticket at 2pm?
EdBacon Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 One time I hit Jackson Frost and Blue Mountain on the same day. 3

Not cheap haha. 75 I think but no big deal. I wanted to stop there. Probably a great time first thing in the morning when everything is groomed 2
PSUFrankenstein Posted February 3 Author Report Posted February 3 Black mountain was a ton of fun. Maybe 40 cars in the lot. A lot of people doing uphill. No one on the slopes so you could fly down whatever groomer you felt like. Hike to stuff didn't open...did a few glades and natural snow trails. I plan on going back next year or maybe even in March. Rode from 9 30 to 2 15 ish and then left for Maine 5 1
