theprogram4 Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 Back on here after a week. Anybody ski/ride today? If you did, mad props. I’m debating tomorrow but might bitch out as I’m pretty old and washed up at this point. Already starting to feel guilty about skipping tomorrow, but leaning towards that. Saw blue mountain drive was closed multiple times today due to the legendary snow drifts near the elementary school. I would prefer to just go at night but want to see Sam darnold win a Super Bowl. Just curious how the PASRs are handling the wind chills 1 1 1
Benm Posted February 7 Report Posted February 7 I can't see anything fun about skiing in this shit. See y'all next weekend. 2

Just curious how the PASRs are handling the wind chills I wouldn’t mind skiing but the thought of a power outage and getting stuck on the lift in this weather has me erring on the side of caution. Also my parachute is out of repack.

enjoralas Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 I skipped today but will be there tomorrow. Grayson's camp is on, so might as well. Was even planning on cooking as of last weekend, but the temp forecast has changed that plan, lol. If anyone is still around about noon tomorrow when camp ends I'm down for some CBI or Point Phillips, lol.

RidgeRacer Posted February 8 Report Posted February 8 Idk. It would be one thing if I were on a trip and it were -20 with wind chills, I’d ski. but this is blue we’re talking about. I’ll go tomorrow. Not to mention I’m over this shit EC weather. If I could move tomorrow I would. 2 1

Mad normal peeps who hate winter also have a crappy jacket and I'm not saying spendy or not. It's 2026 you can get goose suits from China on the cheap but of course they hate winter, a 99 Charlotte Hornets Starter jacket while sweet ain't gonna cut it in single digits. 4

While it might not be great for the weather, that jacket was a gem and core memory. 1 1

Popular Post Boo Bear Posted February 9 Popular Post Report Posted February 9 I went out tonight for my annual skip the Super Bowl ski night- hands down favorite night of the year. Everything was pretty much as described from the morning- windblown, icey, but it wasn’t awful. I reminded myself once or twice that it was better than not skiing, and being stuck watching sportsball. Overall great night. Main Street and falls were the ROTN. 16
Johnny Law Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Rode this morning, c1er in the house and bfg crew but otherwise no familiar faces. Probably the nicest weather day in forever, cold to keep the snow nice but my God does it feel warm after the recent temps. Snow everywhere except one spot on switch was perfect, I feel so spoiled of late and perhaps that is why I had to pay my bill. Side to falls and right over the crest of falls there is some guy 20ft over his head stopped dead and our bodies are lined up for a direct hit to his battleship. Ohhhhh shit....throw them max right but the left ski doesn't make it, we connect big time and I do a root barrel roll and slide down all of falls. The dude was apologizing from the start and I was amazed neither of us were seriously injured so we collected our shit checked both were ok and went on our way. I'm not sure what I could have done other than come to a complete stop and look down the falls. His spot was just the absolute worst but either way we ended up at the same spot at the same time and to me regardless of fault that is a big time fucking failure. My left leg as the lever for the root barrel roll stretched my groin like salt water taffy and my helmet will have to be retired but we were both hyper lucky. Had I sent it I would have at best landed on him and probably taken his head off. I don't know if there is a lesson here other than you can never be to careful around falls but even with all that it was a glorious day to ski. 6 1
C1erArt Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Glad you’re ok. The slick spot on Switch bit me even though I knew it was there. Fortunately, no one around to see it, so it didn’t happen. Other than that, possibly the best day of the year for me. 1
RidgeRacer Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Making night moves. Not to be confused with money moves. Of which I also make. First time at Blue in a minute. It's below freezing but it feels glorious out. Crowds are minimal. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and more people to show up. However it hasn't happened just yet. Snow condition so far...a solid night session 9 out of 10. Chalky grippy and smooth. Can let them go. Really really nice night 9
