Hey All,

I’m back from another morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 830am and it was in the upper 20s under overcast skies. In the house were Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, Airhead, Billskis, Oz, Bethlehem ford crew including Jimmy and crazy Kathy.

I started on the super sunmit safari six and Main Street especially upper was like a western groomer..so good. Up the quad to challenge which wasn’t that good herky jerky rolly polly poor grooming job.  They blew snow on paradise and it was the elephant snot variety so I skipped it.  Switchback still closed after a snowmaking assault.  Law and AJeff skied nightmare dream and I skied sidewinder which was OK snow but the root rollers are annoying. I then skied nightmare to dreamweaver and good snow but I hate the park set up.

We went back to Main Street and it was ok, no more western groomer. Lazy Mike had nice snow, the falls was chunky.  After atomic Jeff left me and Johnny law ended up on the lift with Billskis who’s mostly a lurker and a giant fan of both of us.   We skied the coming soon ditch and was good for 3/4 of it, just enough snow to be edgeable and I didn’t hit any rocks.  Coming soon was boilerplate as it was ungroomed.  I ended up skiing the whole mile for my final run and the last stretch had the crap fresh snowmaking.

Now back at work like a dork gonna push more rocks than Wesley Snipes in New Jack City. JADIP

Second chair quad…. Old geezer insisted on not lifting the bar until 15’ from unloading 😡

I watched Rodney head for sidewinder and I headed for an untracked challenge..Yikes, long frequency washboards with mini bumps.

I hit nightmare a bunch as the snow was pretty nice except for some flypaper at the end. Coming soon had baby powder bumps with ice in between. Main st was meh then I decided to sample the chute up top and with half an inch of dust on I managed a respectable decent. I think I was the only one but decided not to go back. Hopefully they leave them there for the weekend, should be pretty sweet when they thaw. Last chair with GSS and  Jlaw.

Crazy how every trail had different conditions. Nice to see switchback getting some love. I hit rocks in a couple places last weekend.

And C1er also in the house parked next to me.

Had to do the backing up of shame when the first row where Oz and crew park was full when I pulled in.

Great day - Good to out myself, I enjoyed the lift conversation.   My kid was training Super G today so that was awesome too.... Skied 9 - 3, 1st run down Main was magic carpet then wandered from there to TCS and back throughout the day with many repeats in the bumps.  I thought snow and grooming were above par relatively speaking.   Upper lodge was jumping with Ski Barn employee party - lots of great skis to demo if you were an employee they were setting bindings and dishing out right there.   Back Friday Saturday Sunday!

Skied with Hoodie and BooBear last night. Parked the farthest away from the snow than I have all season thanks to the buses taking up 4 rows up front. No real crowds on the snow though so that was nice.

Snow was way better than Tuesday night which was v firm. Some deep sugar piles and anything they didn't groom was pretty slick but wasn't terrible. A bunch of yard sales to watch on Challenge and Falls from how slick it was. Razors was closed with nothing happening on it.

It's nice getting up there before sunset and skiing with some daylight. Love a good sunset while on the snow.

Today they had two slope side rows open so you could loop around and exit without shame.  Nice day, sunny, Switch was open - mostly nice with some marbled up areas. Heard they intend to keep Freefall bumped up to preserve snow for season end. Heard Challenge was nice.

Rant mode on.
WTF, they do this on purpose? First run down falls today was a mix of hard blown flypaper and frozen cord. Is it just me that has problems on this stuff?

Same mix of sticky and ice on coming home. They should run the groomers slower and lay down thick cord and just leave it. Rant mode off.

Snow conditions were a lot better after an hour of the sun hitting the slopes.

I saw the video. Nick said skiers like fresh manmade on top of the cord.  I don’t unless it’s dry.  Not the frozen snot they blow lately.

That must be what happened a couple of weeks ago when there was a big patch of brown ice in the middle of lower main. Lazy, NMDW, Side and Challenge in really good shape today.

I guess I was lucky not taking either of those trails . Second chair quad with Oz . I headed down nightmare and it was full on Plaid all the way, hit again.

Midway was ok then I gave the Chute a try, some new snow on the lower part but really nice. Lower main was a cookie minefield.

It was painful leaving after 45 minutes.

Tomorrow is going to be great, sunscreen time.

5 runs on NMDW today. ROTD. Max speed only 39, but max heart rate 172, so that’s something.
