With Blue closed i and 99977282 other blue regulars were slumming it up at CB.

Super nice day and the snow while hard had reasonable grip.

Regardless as I understand they have/are running big bear 6 or whatever only during the week.

I heard 9388392 million different explanations or conspiracy theories but either way it makes those front side runs super super fast.

How was the coverage on the short side?

I think they wanted to keep Cliff and Nile closed for max snowmaking, and without those why bother run the other lift I guess. Wonder if they would have been open if it wasn't cold enough to make snow . . .

Very good, as far as I could tell anything they blew on throughout the year was open and had full coverage. There are a couple of brown spots around but they are grapefruit size and hardly noticeable.

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to trail names but lower Marc Anthony? and Basilsk don't go and it looked to me that they haven't all season ?

In general I've found there snow to be similar to blue but a bit better and that's what I found today.

Can never be salty about them blowing especially in mid March but it does make for super fast jfbb like laps.

Yeah, seems like some of their superfans like to talk about the "Front Four" like they're some four horsemen style cadre of runs steeped in legend and lore, but in reality it's like starting your run at the top of Falls.

Was curious about the coverage on the runs they *aren't* trying to stretch to May because I'm hoping to get the kid(s) up there for their first visit while most of the mountain is still open, and this weekend is out.

Haha. That's a great analogy. It's like 2 turns and all run out.

Fast enough to get stopped by the yellow coat Fuzz back in 1998 on my 198 K2 El Caminos because I was going as fast as I could down Marjorie’s delight.  A year prior me and my friend Nate got busted poaching a closed trail.  Patrol spotted us in their binoculars..we had to watch a safety video and didn’t even get any popcorn @theprogram4 remembers and so does the Pepperidge farms guy and @skimom

I got my ticket temporarily clipped for going off a jump in the terrain park too fast circa 2005.  Had to watch a safety video to get it back

has anyone figured out if the $20 or $30 ticket is a one time thing, or multiple tickets now through June?

In past years it has been a one time thing at both mountains

If you anticipate multiple trips to CBK they are offering a triple ticket for $89

best case scenario likely through May 3

CBK was beautiful on 3/21 - solid wall to wall coverage on 16 largely distinct TTB routes with only a couple thin spots on flat sections of Birches and Honeymoon. Lift lines were minimal except for the 30 mins BB chair was off line

Best was the ungroomed Cliffhanger which I enjoyed on 5 of my 27 runs - shown below

After skiing took a walk at Marshall’s Falls

Congrats to Camelback on being the last ski area in PA to be open daily - which they plan to keep up for 3 more weeks

Look like Birches got cut from the trail count -  not surprising given my observation above.

Honeymoon also had some thin spots in flats this weekend but they will do all they can to keep that open even if it has to be narrowed as it the key route for skiing from East to West sides of mountain

Might have seen you there. I looked like a drowned rat by the time I left at 11:30. Blue coat, black and green helmet. Got a senior pass today and CB might be my new go to place for ‘take a break from Blue’ days. First time there in 20 years.

Nice - not sure why the drowned rat look. It was cool enough in the AM that I had my turtle fur on - no goggles though

After a clear early morning, it started misting and then a light rain around 11. And my jacket has long since any DWR and waterproofing in general.

Turtles have fur?

If you peel back their shell and scrape away the fibrous membrane there is a very fine layer of velvety fur that is often used in the linings of gaper gear.

Rode with mad Blue peeps this morning. Super super nice day, nobody was out besides Oz, jersey Mike,  etc etc

Coverage is absurd, Stevenson was running and I went there first but everything has good coverage. I didn't dick with birches so who knows there but the Stevenson side is stupid stupid deep. Cliff hanger no joke might make may.

Snow was winter like with soft on top and everyone agreed it was a most superb morning.
