mute1080 Posted March 25 Report Posted March 25 (edited) Skied the first hour and saw BFG & crew, C1er, and the CB Cruiser. 32 degrees when I pulled in and partly cloudy. Got on the snow right before 9 and started on the MSE since the quad line was way longer. First run on Lazy was nice with good snow and coverage. Falls was a bumpy and firm. Second run on Razors was just holding on. Firm and the opposite of smooth like Falls. NMDW was pretty good. Couple spots on the right to avoid but still has good coverage. Upper Main, Challenge, Coming Soon, and Switch closed. Sidewinder has a 20 foot entrance up top, which was already ankle deep sugar when I went through. The rest of the trail has plenty of snow and the 3d features are way better at this size. Took a run on everything open before heading to work and Lazy first run was the ROTM. Snow will be v nice once it softens with the temps but after first tracks it opened up to either cookies or Wilford Brimley sugar. Sad that it might be my last weekday morning of the season. JFskiDan Posted March 25 Report Posted March 25 oh man. i thought upper main might hold on a little longer. looks like the bumps really could still go, i mean, kinda like switchback last weekend. 5
RidgeRacer Posted March 25 Report Posted March 25 (edited) Arrived not too long ago. The cookie is definitely crumbling. Still great coverage on spots but it's going. Way more holes than I saw on Sunday, especially on sidewinder Ran into Airhead on the way in who said its really slow and he wasn't lying. You almost need to skate back to the lift in home stretch otherwise solid spring corn / mashed potatoey conditions. Happy to be part of an exclusive club tonight... The only people in the entire State of Pennsylvania skiing or riding. Edited March 25 by RidgeRacer 7
AirheadD8 Posted March 25 Report Posted March 25 My 4 o'clock appointment canceled so I ended up getting there at 2 . I’m close to hitting 300 runs for the season and was hoping today I would. Sidewinder has a narrow entrance and some bumps but was heavy piles . Main st chair down to lower main was really slow as well. I noticed a set of tracks on the chute between the bare spots and was tempted but didn’t go for it. Nightmare was chopped up as well. I was getting ready to quit and tried Razors which was not bad and had some decent bumps.Skiers right was pretty flat and I could get some speed up to ski homestretch. I found skiing the drop off on the very edge worked. Skied 2-5 . Second last run on Razors I was halfway down when I felt a breeze and a black flash go past. A second later I heard a thud and watched a “10” yards sale. Dude was like 240lbs … Laying on his stomach groaning, I collected his shit and asked if he was ok. He said yes but I could see he was in pain. I’m lucky I didn’t get taken out! The Quad VIP gate glitch cost me two runs on my stats . Two short of 300 .Hopefully Saturday. 4
Jersey Tomato Posted March 26 Report Posted March 26 (edited) I skied the afternoon- it looked better than it skied- shoulda applied some F4 to my bases before as things got pretty grabby here & there- very clumpy conditions like little baby moguls all over the place- the dirty snow on trailsides actually was the best conditions as it was firmer (nobody else wanted to get their skis dirty, lol)- tried to stick to the shady side as conditions were better there. But any sow is good snow, amirite? Rode the lift with a young guy who was ridin' some bigass volkls & was poaching Challenge. Some dude with shorty skis was layin' down perfect S turns on the dirty snow up top on Paradise skiers left. Got back to my car & it had a flat- sure glad it has a spare which got me home in 1 piece. Johnny Law Posted March 26 Report Posted March 26 Rode this morning, superb but 4/6 ways down have an Achilles heal of sorts. All that lidar talk and still every year 98% trail is good but there's a death spot. Really impressive is alot are in the shade. Sunday will be interesting.... Snow was absolutely hero and it was super super fun ponce de Leon'ing your way down the hill trying not to end up in the dirt. Maybe 50 people out i only saw half of bfgs crew. 5

FrntPL8rScott Posted March 26 Report Posted March 26 We went to camelschmack for a change in scenery with their $25 lift ticket - Had not been there is 5 years, forgot how short the runs are - On the garmin, the old front side averages .65 miles with 630 of vert, Stevenson side .7 miles with 750 vert - Blue averages 1.35 with 1080 vert - Snow was in decent shape - The crazy was Cliffhanger, looks like they have a 15-20 foot base built up - They may make it to May with that iceberg. 2 1
