Popular Post RidgeRacer Posted April 4 Popular Post Report Posted April 4 Hey all just back from camelback which is currently giving off serious spring at Killington vibes. I'm the house were law, atomic, jfdan, mute, enjo, pops, and I think I saw c1er at the start. It was warm to start and that turned to straight up hot as the day went on. Really nice spring conditions on pharaoh and nile mile which were groomed to start and that translated into some nice speed runs. The superstar of PA, cliffhanger, ultimately opened. Glacial in spots, soft in others, ungroomed and a serious leg burner. Lots of fun though. The amount of snow in that trail is truly impressive. At least 20 feet high in spots. Crazy. All told today was a classic spring day. Well worth the $25. 10
AirheadD8 Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 Nice report, sorry I missed you . Cliffhanger was the reason I went there today. I was disappointed that it was closed but happy they opened it. I shared a chair with Jl , Atj and mute . The first few were sketchy but it softened up nicely. my Patroller friend said at one time the snow on Cliffhanger was as high as the heads on the guns. The sides have quite a shear droop off. 4
Johnny Law Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 I was not thinking at 6am and had way too many layers for 70 degrees. I drank like 2 gallons of fluid on the way home and I'm going to pee dust.....and what a fucking glorious day. Cliffhanger started to get actually good on the left side bumps and there's nothing like attacking spring rowdy shit like Vikings getting booty in an English monastery. Back when he was still Kanye.... my life is dope because I do dope shit and today was dope. 5 1
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 Catamount today was a lot nicer than Hunter yesterday back to CBK next weekend 1
mute1080 Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 Day 50 for me. Besides my pass not working(they scanned my Blue pass and said use it) and that they didn’t have any food or drink open until 11, it was a blast. I just went under or around because I didn’t want to make the hike to fix the pass. Nile and Pharaoh were smooth early and CH bumps were nice. It was fun riding with the Blue crew at another mountain 6
enjoralas Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 (edited) Hard to believe they squeezed 8 distinct top to bottom runs out of those 4 trails. Edited April 4 by enjoralas 2 3
JFskiDan Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 Today was fun AF, spring skiing at its largest. First “invite only” run on cliffy was mostly very firm with some patches of soft snow. The invite only run was basically us just following some patrollers, and probably some of their friends. After 2 runs on the other 2 distinctly unique top to bottom runs, cliffy was in superb spring condition. Last run down it to the bar that wasnt open yet, was glorious. give credit where it is due, camelback came through with the goods. Its probably gonna be pretty interesting when thats the only trail open. what ever run u get off the lift and go right, might not make it tomorrow. 4

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted April 5 Report Posted April 5 Camelback wasn’t on my radar this morning but after seeing these reports and others on Facebook I have a bit of FOMO but seeing the base and forecast looks like they have a couple more days to be open. Trust me GSS from 1991-2024 was slapping me upside the head for not skiing today so I know I still love skiing wahahah. and JLaw I know the feeling of being dehydrated from skiing I’ve peed yellow after drinking a liter and a half of water it’s insane

They’ve got plenty of skiing left. 1
