There is this unique run. police cruiser parking is just to the left of us, indy pass parking with subarus is just to the right as you can see. One of them is “indybitch1”. I asked if they know skiitoolives bit i forget his indy handle. ovation is skiing great. Taking a hydration break. 6 1 1 2
JFskiDan Posted April 10 Author Report Posted April 10 Skied till about 3 today. Whooped. Fantastic spring conditions right out of the gate. 10 out of 10 jazz hands. In Montpellier at the quirkiest hotel with 4 maybe 5 distinctly unique floors, but no real hot water to speak of. Heading to the tap room for some libations and grub. Sugarbush tomorrow, another fan favorite. Might be in for some firmer conditions tomorrow, with lower temps. 6 2
Johnny Law Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 I didn't know we had a thread going, yesterday at Stratton, today, its what this shit is all about. Soft laps at Mach looney and beers in the lot under the sun, I'd choose this everyday and twice on Sunday. My attendance was required elsewhere first thing this morning so trying to catch them, going up the gondy I spot a skier with the skis angled to the moon throwing up a massive rooster coming down ovation at a clip not seen in mortal men. He's flanked by two other skiers getting equally as rowdy and it dawns on me its them. It's rare I see us from afar and it is impressive no bullshit. I got a semi bronze in the face in VT, that's normally not even on the radar but maybe best I spend the entire day laughing. Grade a, top shelf, fork lift certified shit. 8 1
JFskiDan Posted April 12 Author Report Posted April 12 Bush on Sat. Fairly soft to start on the lower stuff, even with a below freezing night with some rain/snow mixed in. Heavens gate was in the clouds and we were pretty sure it was gonna be firm. A few laps in and we made the move to confirm that. Run under the lift was scrapey hard pack. Took that big long cruiser around and down and it was kinda sugary chunky unpleasant snow. Ran steins and stuff off of super bravo for a while which were all skiing well. Finished up on north lynx, which they ran for 1 run that was on life support. Gate house had 2 open runs. so, another good day of spring skiing, there weren't that many unique trails open, but still a great day. 4
JFskiDan Posted April 12 Author Report Posted April 12 Just wrapped up at K and on the way home. Jlaw staying to hang with some family. Little mix of corn and sugar in spots, with another just below freezing night. Couple bump runs on delayed opening. Nice sunny morning, and another good day with the usual suspects. 5
