  1. Just Tahoe for me this year, hoping for more big powder days than the last 2 years. Unless some work driven trips to Europe allow some options over there. We are not getting our Squaw/Alpine passes for this year, trying to spend more time at some of the other resorts. Definitely Kirkwood a few times, probably quite a few days at Sugarbowl, at least 1 trip to Mt Rose and I might give Heavenly another chance if they get a decent amount of snow. Late season will probably by next years pass to Squalpine and ride the spring out on that.

  2. I don't think I can ever see him as " your common man" or an "eagle of American freedom" but I can definitely see him as a Mc Double and the board is certainly less entertaining without him.

My vote is for free speech within the limits of decency and this seems like overly harsh punishment, give him his freedom to post.

  3. Griffith is black domed though the building looks similar. It kinda looks like Palomar.....I'm going lick on Mount Hamilton but that's only because I know alot of people ride up Mt. Hamilton.

Winner! It is the Lick observatory on Hamilton. 4000 feet up from the valley floor, beautiful ride.

  4. Indeed it was, Never driven up there before, it was much wider than the normal beach down by the surf jetties. So much so that a little 4x4 impromptu race broke out between my T100 and my buddy's tacoma.

If you're just criticizing the photo, then yes, gopro picture is definitely pro. There's a lighthouse in that shot that you can't even hardly see, stupid fisheye lens. What can I say though, it's too easy to just carry everywhere and snap quick pics with and my other shitty point and shoot had dead batteries.

    I liked the picture

  5. what was your time?

looks real nice. theres too many places in the US i want to live.

    4 hrs and 16 mins.

beautiful pictures! That lake looks so clear. Uphill or not, 72 miles is a long ride. Nice job

the lake is unbelievably clear, they say the "dinner plate" test (where you can still see a white dinner plate on a rope) goes to 140ft.

    I like men

thanks for the excellent contribution to the thread...

  6. More "pics from this weekend" than "pics from today"

Rode the "Tour de Tahoe" this weekend, a clockwise loop around the lake (72 miles). Seriously one of the most beautiful rides you could imagine, with breathtaking scenery and some amazing roads. Sweeping down from emerald bay towards homeward, holding 40+mph for miles was one of the all time bicycle moments for me. I rode a little on Friday and saturday too, just to get a feel for the area.

First picture from Friday evening on the beach (south lake)

All in, an amazing weekend, highly recommend this ride if you ever get the chance. Not very tough and lots of fun, huge participation (>2000 riders) and very well supported.

Actually a pic from Sunday, a nice 25 mile morning ride up to Henry Coe state park, 2700ft up in 8 miles.

No sign of fall here yet, still 85-90 degrees, dry and sunny.

Next weekend (September 9th) I am riding around Lake Tahoe, will try to post some nice pic's (not from my i-phone).

  8. I've got last years TRS brand new... Got it late last year... I am pretty excited to try it out myself... I have heard that the magna traction works well if it is sharp, but if it isn't sharp, it's grippy even when your not on the edge... It's also a pain to sharpen since you can't put it through a machine.. Regardless, I'm excited... I've heard the base holds up really well to a beating too...

Have 1 whole season and a couple of months on my TRS (C2BTX) now and it's holding up really well. I cant comment on the ice-skating capabilities of the Mag' with Banana as we dont really have to deal with the real boiler plate stuff, but on hard crusty groomers it flies and holds a really good edge. My old Dark MTX was excellent on the east coast but that was a non-banana version. TRS's are awesome in powder and spring soft/heavy conditions, you'll have to take yours somewhere to the west.
