Interesting day at Blue today. started with a delayed open on the old six. Then NM/DW was being groomed so after a run down Paradise Hayata and I got two nice smooth passes on NM/DW onto a very wavey lower paradise.. We headed down Challenge to find a ski patroller yard sale near the bottom of the head wall, radio and all. We stopped to gather his stuff. and to ask if he was ok. He said he was alright, so we continued on. We got on the old six with another ski patroller who was headed up to help him, because after we left him, he called for assistance. We then skied lazy to the falls and found the falls to be a deep dark mess. Next run was switch back which was another deep dark lumpy teeth rattling mess, followed by two wonderful runs down a nice smooth main street, with a quick bump run in the middle. On our second main street pass, we stopped on the cross trail with about 15 other skiers, as we were standing there an intermediateish skier sailed through the group and unknowingly blundered into the bumps. He got lucky and only floundered over two bumps before they spit him out headfirst onto the smooth part of Main. On our second lazy to falls run, the falls was littered with people that the deep stuff got the best of. Spoke with GSS and got to meet and have a short conversation with Salty Ant. And had a ski by meet up with Mute, nice to meet both of you. Fun day as always at blue.

The ski Patrol guy was the definition of yard sale his crap was everywhere, hope he  is ok, Great day.

Unless I'm wrong, this is unusual to have the new season pass available in Feb, correct?  Maybe my memory is bad, but seems like we don't get the option until March.

I could just be projecting my faltering memory based around an expectation of Blue not lasting after mid-March.... Unless we get some better weather soon

Last years was early March. Got mine on the 11th

I wouldn't call trail conditions great today. Sugar formed way too soon on most of the trails, lower Lazy turned into a complete shit by noon, though the upper one stayed probably the best on the whole mountain.

Two trails closed for snowmaking: Challenge and Switchback.

Low crowds, great skiing, but best part was the Epic weather! While people in Utah whine and moan about getting core shots on the rocks instead of the promised champagne, while some skis there get 5 years older after spending just a single day on the slopes, at Blue it's dumping! I could hardly find my way down once and was really sorry I didn't hire a guide!

Was at the top of Razor when the mini Blizzard hit, couldn’t see 10 ft.  Foward but that was some Fun Shit.

Atrocious is an understatement! Sidewinder was brutal today, not sure what the hell they did grooming it but that sucked,

Wow today was one of the best conditions I remember skiing at Blue. Snow was a nice firm chalky, fast with loads of grip.

ROTD is a tie between Razors and Main St. Everything was excellent. Around 10:15 some flurries moved in and stayed until after I left at 11. Ran into ZZ and Hayatta on the way back to the lot.

Cold today, but a decent crowd. Not crowded but more people than I expected.

I must agree, the snow on all trails was about as good as it gets

Hayata, his spouse, and I blew off work to spend the morning at blue. The first 6 or 7 runs were stellar on every run except the bumps, they had icy troughs. Things started to get cut up and a little sugary, nothing to complain about, switched to my wider skis and all was good. Challenge developed some cookies but, again not bad. Did not see anyone in the bumps so I didn't go back to them, probably should have as I am sure they turned hero. I have to admit that I have been enjoying the skier cross course, but it can go just the same.

Great Morning at Blue,Until you skied over the old man's ski at the widowmaker ski patrol hut, Lol!!!

    Hey All,

I'm back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain.  I arrived at the lower lot around 725AM and the temperature was around 10 degrees with light winds.  In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, MBike Mike, Nastar glenn, Toast, The RealKT, Justo, GSSucks, Ryan, Tarponhead, Indiggio and about 6,000 others.

I ended up on the second civilian 6-pack and first run was on challenge which was a carpet..fastish snow..after Jackson hole I wanted to go about 15mph faster but just not enough pitch..but I did make about two and a half turns.  Razors was closed for racers and nightmare to dreamweaver was closed for some sort of bordercross/skiercross race. As much as it was sad not to ski NMDW it's just about never closed so ended up skiing lazy mile, switchback and Main Street a little more.  All were between ok and real nice.

Some new snow in barneys bumps only skied them once a few shiny spots but mostly chalky.  With nightmare-dreamweaver closed paradise was super crowded only skied it once.  Had a couple perpetual IPAs and some pretzel nuggets thanks to JFDan and still too cold to be gloveless in the lot.  I haven't even checked the weather for tomorrow but I'm hoping there's some snow and if the new snow doesn't come till later it might make for a much longer session to ski..anybody skiing tomorrow?  I was thinking Root was gonna be at Blue today but didn't see him. Maybe Matt Edge will be out tomorrow and TP4 and Schifdawg..JADIP

Rode the second civilian six with you this a.m.
