  1. ahh, don't you just love disgruntled ex employees!!! Hey Yumerz we get it, you got canned and now you hate JFBB. However, I like reading the condition updates given by bigdaddyk and others, and am tired of you adding pointless comments to their threads. Yeah, it was not that cold last night, but they were still able to make some snow. I skied Challege earlier in the week and it is like six snowcats wide. If you want to talk shit on JFBB thats fine, start a new thread and just reply back and forth to yourself. JFBB has the best conditions and most snow in the poconos, so quit talking shit on the fan guns, and the snowmakers; it just shows what a moron you are. You should get a job, or a life; and F_CK OFF!!

Hey everyone! Sure hope everyone is enjoying the return to winter! Just wanted to point out a few things.... Notice how the person I quoted is trashtalking an "ex employee"? Now that we establish this, check out the username and I'm sure you can figure out their true identity. FYI....this person used to trade private messages with us on this board, so we know for a fact who it is, but we'll leave it up to you to solve this riddle. very tacky. Cheers! :wiggle

  2. In professional courtesy I originally wished to remain quiet, but I refuse to have an anonymous "employee" of JFBB trashtalk us with untruths in attempt to save face at a resort that is grossly mismanaged by an incompetent, underqualified and immature mountain "manager". I explain below:

PL did wreck a brand new park bully groomer leaving it stranded on the snow for several days with 3 wheels missing through inept operation. BB staff reparied it where it was (it couldn't be moved) the day the parts arrived.

Big Boulder lacks a trained Pisten Bully mechanic. period. A 'mechanic' from outside the snow industry was brougt in exactly one week before the opening date and the machine was not properly overhauled prior to the season. Collectively, Parklogic has been operating snowcats for a total of 15 years, this mechanic worked on one for only ONE WEEK. The result of this breakdown is directly a result of a machine not properly put together. Within the "tracks" is a set of wheels and cogs. One morning the 2 front wheels of this beloved machine completely FELL OFF the machine as a result of not being propertly torqued. This is the alleged breakdown that has been blamed. Its pretty lame to try and save face this way by spreading mistuths and blaming PL.

PL also promised the opening of the merry widow park last saturday. Despite keeping MW closed on friday to build it they still left early and did not complete the park.

This is only 1/2 true. ParkLogic did promise to have the MW Park open, but only based on the promise by the mountain "manager" that our ParkBully machine would be complete at 9AM prior to starting the build. Other machines, that are decades old, were being used to frontline groom and instead of us getting a machine at 9am as promised, we got it at 5pm leaving insufficient time to complete the build up to our standards. This is fact.

Given the raw materials that PL was given, any weldor could build those.

Any welder? Welder's weld. Fabricators build. Then why is there nearly 2 dozen jibs behind the BB maintenance yard that are unusable and unsafe? Improper fabrication and SEVERAL jibs that were run over by snowcats is not the sign of a solid program.

Good park scene, which is what some are lamenting the possible loss of, is generated by the riders not the builders.

If true, then explain this: Upon our arrival we met several locals that admittedly enjoyed coming to BB, but would rather go to BC because of the more prominent park scene and ALL of the people we met welcomed change including park riding employees. I may be dilusional, but building moto jumps and installing 40ft long broken, warped flat rails aren't really whats 'in' these days. "If you build it, they will come". period.

Thank you everyone for your support, this will be our last post for a while. In closing, to summarize all of this bantering the most simple and honest way possible, we didn't leave, we were wrongfully ousted!

  3. For the record, the ParkLogic Crew was 100% committed to building a prominent terrain park program at Big Boulder. Since September we have worked 15 hour days, nearly 7 days per week in order to complete over 25 jibs in time for opening day. We hope everyone enjoys the fruits of our labor and we are dissappointed with this outcome.

It was a pleasure working with Jesse, he is passionate about his resorts and really understands the importance of freestyle terrain. The demise of this relationship is directly a result of a lack of understanding, knowledge, expertise and display of jealousy from a key member of the BB team.

Its been a pleasure meeting everyone here in PA. We tried our best and on ALL fronts we were on a quick-track to success. We wish everyone a great season and we'll back-up and running in the near future.

  4. Currently Big Boulder Park is offering the following terrain features on 'Freedom Park':

    -16ft Flat Box

    -20ft Flat Box (new)

    -Tree Jib

    -20ft Down Rail

    -20ft Down Box

    -20ft Flat Box

    -30ft Flat Box (wide)

Snowmaking!!!!! Truly amazing! While the snow is piling up, literally, we wanted to give our other park trails some time to accumulate a plentiful amount of snow. We anticipate having a few new features on 'Merry Widow' for the weekend and we'll begin a full-blown park build early next week after a few more days of snowmaking!

  5. Thanks to our state-of-the-art snowmaking system and the dedication of the Big Boulder Park snowmaking crew, opening day is here with 4 lifts and 5 trails, including:

Edelweiss (30foot 'wide' box, and some 20foot jibs TBD - updated after 1:00pm)

    Big Boulder

  7.

that 50' DFD is really nice. how the hey do you guys move them?

Thanks...Its designed to replicate a streestyle double, two copings with a small gap in the middle. The middle is fitted, and recessed with plastic (for safety), and the riding surface is strictly on the coping to give it a different, more 'streety' feel.

Anythat that big is built modular in pieces.

  8. We are proud to announce our official Big Boulder Park sponsors for the 2007 season. These cutting edge, proven companies will play an integral role supporting our program and will be very visible throughout our parks this upcoming season.

    Official Accessories Sponsor: Dakine

    Key Park Event Sponsors:

    RedBull

    Future Snowboarding Magazine

  9. Not to put words in your mouth but was the seemingly shitty snowmaking at Mountain Creek a factor for you leaving? Because last year for a while they built up snow for a step down on great northern where there is always a stepdown, but after the warm spell they pushed it out for coverage instead and put 2 rails. And the jump on kyhber was like half made but never materialized either, and then flying fox basically never even opened.

    No comment.

Here's a sneak peak of Big Boulder's new 40foot flat rail nearing completion. We're working overtime these days and we're averaging a new jib from 'concept to paint' every 1.5 days!

  10. shawn grooms too, correct?

Correct. I [shawn] have been building parks [as an operator] for 7 years and Julian for 6. With the elite snowmaking system here at JFBB and better park trail acreage (wider) we are stoked to have the opportunity to finally let loose!

In the coming weeks we'll be adding heavily to our jib variety including some of the features listed above and much more... have a great weekend!

  11. Yet another busy week here at JF/BB. The mountain crews are geared-up and we are itching to make snow as soon as weather permits. Stay tuned to www.jfbb.com or www.bigboulderpark.com for the latest updates.

In addition, this week we've added the East Coast Team Challenge to our event lineup at Big Boulder. Mark your calendars! January 9th is going to be huge at BigBoulder. In addition to the East Coast Team Challenge slopestyle action, our good friends at RedBull will be flying-in some of the industry's top photographers and magazine editors to capture all of the action! Don't miss this opportunity!

Our jibs are known to be of high quality, extremely smooth with no buckling or imperfections of any kind. More features next week with more updates!
