  1. Naw...it's not that bad! But I DO work Sat's/Sun's

I will be at Boulder two more Thus. nights for the races. Two more Thurs night races at Sno...Then five days at Killington!

YEA...I guess I'm jumping the gun by saying "Have a nice summer" !

But ya got to admit....the end is in sight :crymore:

This Thursday I believe is going to be our last Sno race. We'll be in KMart for the final race. :(

So 2 Tuesday Boulder races, 1 Thursday Sno race, then 5 days in Killington.

Killington is going to be open well into May..

Fleaguy's ski bum life lasts only for January and February. It takes a lot to convince him to vacation w/ us for just ONE weekend in March.

His priorities are all screwed up!! :D

  2. Blue's pipe was horrible. They should have filled it in long ago.

Personally, I would rather a shitty pipe than no pipe.

is sno's superpipe even open this season?

Nope. Not even their mini (regular-sized) pipe.

I guess in the end halfpipes are something that cost tons of time, money, effort to get right... and when they're not perfect, the mountains hear about it. I don't blame the mountains for not having them, the advantages of having them never live up to the investment put into them. :(

  3. I'm not totally sure why their park isn't "real".

Some of those jumps and rails are easy enough I can hit.

Some of them are real tough that I struggle on.

And some of them are so big and crazy that they make my asshole pucker just looking at them.

Sounds like a good day. Sucks I was left out nursing this lame cold.

  4. nbcolympics.com

In theory, it shows the tv schedules. However, it will be like, from 2-5, it's mens DH, women's xc, and curling trials. So, you don't really know when an event will be on. Not helpful. Esp. when they show lame events.

Heh, my mistake. I went to that site before and clicked on Schedule and Results instead of TV Listings.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. However, still bad news... that 5-racer coverage of the downhill was in fact all they showed....

  5. Seriously thats the product you put out sno? Its 2010, thats pretty sad. And if this doesnt embed correctly, its a video showing what sno's jumps look like.

Try copying the URL (not the embed)... then use the Insert Media tool on these forums. :wiggle

  6. I understand you're trying to help, and give real feedback... but ya did throw in an all caps F bomb.... which would have me ignore the post assuming it's just another butthurt rant if I were an actual mountain rep.

Personally, I always felt Sno's jumps were extremely awkward. You go down a steep, hit a flat, then climb this enormous mound of snow hoping you don't lose all your speed in order to clear it. I would love to see Sno ditch that method and go with a wedge-style jump *right* before a headwall.... and use that steep headwall as the landing. I don't know. There must be a reason they do it like that.... I'd love to know.

But either way, I don't think their park is that subpar. Yeah Boulder's got it beat, but I really don't think Sno's competing for those kids (the hardcore park rats).

  7. ...on Thursday the 28th and receive positive rep from me. (AKA, the 1/28/10 TR)

Wow, I have to hand it to you guys.. if I didn't have a team race with team mates depending on my time, there's no way I would have went out. The wind in the parking lot alone would have made me turn around and drive home.

It was so cold up top, that when I went down the hole and was sitting on Pheobe... I was squirming in pain as all the blood rushed back into my fingers and toes.. lol.

Sno did have their guns going.. but I'm pretty sure that snow was landing in Elmhurst. Hopefully that wind died down at some point, because I'm hoping for some good snow to ride on this weekend.

  8. 1, Sno's prices are probably some of the lowest in PA. On top of that, there are some ridiculous discounts to be had if you're willing to look (the family deal, Scranton Ski Club's deal, etc.)

2, Why the hell are we still arguing over a high speed lift? Didn't all those who call Sno their home mountain all agree that a HSQ would be overkill for this mountain? There's no such thing as a lift line at Sno..... so a HSQ is simply not needed.

3, I get disappointed when I see everyone take the best of one mountain, and try to compare it to Sno. Yeah Blue's high speed lifts rock, but how's their snow quality? Yeah Boulder's park kicks ass... how's their crowd? Sno isn't Blue, it isn't Boulder, it isn't Camelback. All mountains have pros and cons.. to take a pro from one mountain and be dumbfounded when that specific quality is a con here Sno, is unfair. Everyone that skis here do so for a reason. Sure proximity is a major factor... but there are still qualities that make Sno a pretty nice place to call home.
