  1. I never thought I'd post in a tattoo thread, but I am curious about your tat Justin. I know that's City Hall in Philly with William Penn at the top and the "rage" is a twist on the iconic "love" statue, but what does it mean? Or is that too personal of a question? Cool looking piece of art, btw.

  2. Very late to the discussion but I wanted to pop on to say hi! It was great to put faces with names, even though I couldn't keep up with any of you! LOL! You are all hard core and I'm...well - not. I managed to lose Barb on the very first run down Tbolt. Sorry Barb - I fell on my Momski Faceski! I'm much better on groomers. At least that's what I'm telling my ego.

Technical abilities aside, it ended up being a great, if not crowded, day at JF for the Momski family. My son was tickled the whole day over the "are you old enough to drink beer" question he got from a certain PASRer (who shall remain nameless) at 9 AM. Jacob now swears he looks 21. :) My daughter was also impressed by the group and declared Johnnystyle's style to be "so cool". Indeed.

  3. First ever trail report, so here goes!

Beautiful day at JF today, despite the slightly overcast, somewhat foggy start to the day. The fresh snow made the crazy drive up the night before well worth the white knuckles. Spent the night at the Momski Chalet and got an early start. We made first tracks/chairs - a Momski first!

My friend and I were all over the mountain and the conditions did not disappoint on any run. Perfectly groomed trails and lots of fresh snow in the glades. Many figure eights were made! LOL! The bumps on Exhibition were perfect and we got a great show from the lift watching Ski Patrol run sled drills down the bumps.

We skied everything from Jane's Lane to Floyd's and back again. No Elevator, although I peered over the edge. Gulp. Most of the morning we had the runs to ourselves. For me, the run of the day was Challenge - went from perfectly groomed to nicely bumped and felt different each time. The trees were amazeballs. Very nice all around. JADIP!

We headed out around 1 PM to get home in time for the real world - kids off school bus. Can't wait to get back up for the snow this weekend. Looking forward to PASR day on Saturday.

  4. Roads in the lehigh valley are fine....I live right by 22 and traffic is moving like 55mph. All the main roads here are down to blacktop but some secondars are still deep. Have Fun!!!!!

Good to get an eyewitness report! Thanks GSS...headed out in 30 minutes! Everyone enjoy the Pocono Pow.

  5. We're giving a chance for the roads to clear a bit then heading up this afternoon. Kids have had off from school all week. Shif will you be up tomorow? It would be nice to meet you.

We're doing the same as Barb. Kids have off until Tuesday, so we're heading up for an evening session at BB and will be at JF all day Friday. I can not get over the amount of snow we got in the last 24 hours. We have 18 inches plus on the ground here in Central Jersey. I'm hoping Route 33 will be okay by this afternoon. Can't wait to hit the real snow.

  6. We also had a great morning session at Boulder on Saturday! Hubby, kids and I were a bit lazy, so we didn't get to BB until 10ish. We were amazed to find how empty it was for a Saturday. We figured everyone was over at JF for opening. We lapped Little Boulder, Lower Sitzmark and Freedom for about 2 hours. Took a quick break and got back out for another hour or so. The conditions were beautiful - sunny, perfect temp, nice snow conditions. A big change from Freezing Friday when we got 2 runs and called it a night. We left around 1:30 with big grins on all our faces and great start to the season.

  7. Here's hoping. Looks like we might get some help from mother nature Saturday into Sunday. We're headed up with the rug rats Saturday afternoon to load in for the season, so we'll run over and take a look at BB.

  8. :crymore:

Thanks to JFBB for a great 08-09 season. For this family of four, it was a memorable year on the snow, and we can't wait to get back for 09-10. Next stop on the family skiing tour is Spring skiing in Colorado next week. Then the countdown begins for Po Co Know Winter '09. Enjoy the warm weather, PASRs.

  9. I noticed those ridges, too! I'm a left side of Lehigh kinda gal, so I ran into and over those ridges all day. I have to say, the mountain was in much better shape then we expected and we had a blast. It was a gorgeous day and the conditions were interesting all day. The groomers did a great job and we hit the black runs early and then stuck to Jane's Lane, Lehigh and Easy Rider in the afternoon. I knew I'd been reading too many PASR trail reports when I was telling my husband I now know what everyone means when they say the snow was like mashed potatoes or applesauce (or slush!). We rode it all. LOL!

I'm a little sad to say goodbye to JFBB this year, but we renewed our passes and can't wait for next season. I guess since we're done for the year, instead of JADIP, it should say JASIP!

  10. The left side of Exhibition is nice and bumped up.

My kids had a blast on it on Monday. I hope they leave it that way for the rest of the year. I have to say we've been real happy with the conditions all season at JF. We've been up every weekend but one and have always found good to great conditions on mountain. Can't believe it's almost over.

  11. JADIP, indeed!

Spent the morning at JF with a friend and we were beyond giddy over the amazing conditions and the complete lack of people. In fact, when we pulled into the lot at 9, my friend asked if JF was even open! Sunny, blue skies, cord everywhere. We were still skiing over untouched snow at noon. I did more runs in 4 hours today than I do in a month of Saturdays. Best day of the year. I may have to develop a midweek habit. :)

  12. We made it as far as the parking lot at JF - and then left to go over to BB. I have never seen it so crowded at JF as it was on Saturday. We couldn't even find a parking spot. When we saw the sign at the lodge that said "Welcome Racers!" we said, buh-bye to JF for the day. LOL! Boulder was much easier to deal with and the conditions were nice. One of these days I'll meet another PASRer!

  13. Oh shoot! I was looking for anyone with a PASR sticker on their helmet and didn't see anyone until the end of the day. I saw a sticker in the distance but by the time I stalked the person they were gone! LOL! I think it might have been Barb because I could have sworn she had a couple of kids with her. I need to learn to move faster on the flats.

I was there with my family and another family who was staying the weekend with us. We got a late start because of the weather. A bit too cold for my kiddos. We didn't roll into Frost until closer to noon, had lunch and then stayed until closing. I swear I'm going to start wearing a sign that says my log in name on it. I knew you guys were out there...somewhere. :)

Glad everyone had a blast. We had great conditions and enjoyed the whole weekend. Now the buzz kill for my kids - back to the weekday school routine.

  14. That is so scary Barb and I'm glad he's okay. I always worry about my kids on the lifts. My daughter likes to lean forward and look over at everything. Scares me to pieces. I also noticed how slippery the lifts were Saturday because of all the snow.

My son and I had a fun one Saturday - the lift operator accidently flipped the seat up on us at loading. I sat down with Jake and no seat, just bars. Luckily she noticed and stopped the lift in time. I had to drop down a few feet to get off. That was fun. All I could think of was the picture of that poor guy who ended up upside down with his pants down around his ankles, free to the breeze.

  15. Hell Yeah...Serious Stoke!!!! I'm so excited and I just can't hide it..I'm about to lose control and I think I like it....

Gah! Now I have that song stuck in my head. <sighs> I guess that's better than let it snow...let is snow...let it snow! The car is packed and we are headed up as soon as the school bus spits out the littlest ski bums in this family.

Here's to a weekend of fresh snow. Yay!

    GO EAGLES!

  16. We just got home last night after a great winter break. We got in a total of 8 days on mountain, so we were one happy family. Wanted to share a few pics from New Year's Day at JF. My son, Jacob, got such a kick out of seeing them blowing snow, then grooming, then opening Lehigh. It was his favorite run. He kept going on and on (and on!) about the "vert wall" off to one side. He is already speaking in code: "Flatland 360 up to the high side vert wall". I need a translator.

Charlotte's favorite was getting in under the closing ropes and doing her last ride down Ridge Run. She was thrilled because there was no one on the run so she didn't have to turn. She loves going fast.

I will say this - it was cold and we were dressed like astronauts. :) Happy 2009 and GO EAGLES!
