  1. So yesterday 12/12 I ventured to Blue Mountain to ski in the rain. Sorry for the lame post...I was pretty tird... I gaurantee there was 10-20 people there. They weren't even scanning the tickets. The mountain eventually closed at 5pm. Around 4 I was skiing down Burma road. There was nobody around me so I decided to not go slow and just book it. Apparently a ski patroller was lurking in the woods or something as when i made it to the top of the main street lift I was greeted by one of Blue's finest and entered into 'The Database'. I was then asked why I did not stop to the patroller behind me. I replied that I did not hear them. The patroller then asked why I didn't hear the whistle. I responded with I was listening to music and told him that patrollers should wear lights on their coats like a police car so we can properly identify them.

  2. Hey everyone! Mountain Report right here from my Jeep.

Currently drinking a beer and warming up.

    Rolled into Blue around 405.

Broke out my new boots and skis and hopped on the snow. First run was down Midway and Main Street. Snow was sort of chunk with some cookies, typical snow for 4pm. Rode the lift up and bombed Vista about 5 times. Ski patrol was not out :P

I love my new ski's! A lot of fun.

Anyways. Blue Mountains Interactive Trail map is completely wrong. Pioneer Pass is on the skiers right of the beginning of Vista and ends at Connector. It's nice cause it will keep some of the idiots off of Vista I guess. I like the new courtyard. The ticket scanners were friendly and fast and remembered where my pass was each time. I like the RFID pass and don't miss ticket check. I just like walking on the snow not waiting in a line. It looked like there was lift lines but it was mainly people unstrapping and socializing before the lift. The lodge is nice.New wider windows facing the courtyard in the Vista Cafe'. Outdoor patio will be nice when completed. I like the Power-Point presentaion menu's haha, but I miss some of the old food they got rid of. Had some pizza . Give it an A-

Overall I am having a good night :)

Can't wait to ski with everyone Sunday Morning!

  3. oh shit. now i miss the funnel. that was sick. it was like riding down a red carpet/back entrance band only door after getting done riding and going "yup, i slayed today"

plus it differentiated between "trail" and "not trail" but whataver

I know, they could have named that area "The Funnel" and gained an extra trail too.

  4. Is skiing to the main lodge different than before? They still have ski check and what not? I have to check out Rays Grill on skis this year..

There used to be a tree line sort of funneling people off of Vista now it's one big open access ski place.

  5. Like they have 1picture of the re-designed courtyard? Honestly I would be stunting that off and showing it off. I bet 80% of Blue Mountains customer don't know about the construction project unless they were friends with Blue Mountain's Facebook, and please make sure you are friends with the correct facebook....

It's sad that the "Picture of the day" is so outdated and you have to check moon-doggies site for a better pic anymore.. I love Blue Mountain, I have been skiing there 17 years, it's just certain things could be down way better.
