    Subject: Question About Rail Jam

    Hello,

I've heard speculation that there is a rail jam planned at your

mountain in the near future. I am curious if this is true, and if so,

what are the details of the event. Thanks for your time.

This is from an email I received after I questioned about the rail jam at roundtop:

Subject: RE: Question About Rail Jam

    Hi Mike,

Nothing in the near future. We will probably have our first one of the

season in October at the Swap.

    Have a great summer,

    Chris

  2. what about the dragontail  rail that they have?

I don' think they have a dragontail rail. I was there last weekend and they haven't had one all season; not really sure why they would put one out now. I'm going tomorrow night, I'll let you know.

  3. that flatdown box is super sticky. i tried a 270 on last time i was there and almost died. thank god that thing is too low for me to nut it.

Yeah seriously dude...that box is REALLY sticky. I disastered to boardslide last Saturday night and as soon as I touched the box my board stopped and it slammed me into the ground. I didn't have time to get my hands down and I broke the fall with my face heh.

  4. i was there at blue today for pasr day and the rails are set up like SHITTTTTTT. theyre definately not ride on. but ollieing 2 ft of a jump that comes to a point in front of the rail is not a rail id like to hit. making a rail not ride on doesnt mean lowering the jump so u run into the side of it. It means backing the jump up alittle so theyre a gap. its not hard to build a jump with shovels. Gimme the shovel and ill do it myself. but another thing, WHY IS THE KINK RAIL ON A TURN?!?!  it has the same porblem as all the other rails with its on ramp and its really hard to even hit it strait since its on a turn. I was not impressed with the rails at all.

Did you expect those rails to be ride on? They just need better lips, I think the park set up is rockin'. I think the rail your refferring to is the flat-down rail (KINK RAIL), which I think is easy to hit, you just have to stop and check it out. I ride regular so I'm jumping off my heal edge and I don't have trouble with it.

  5. details???

Shawnee's park has: a long, flat box on a sweet slope with a nice gap to it, a rainbow rail, a rainbow box, flat rail, flat-down-flat rail, flat-down box, c box, and a mail box. All rails are gap-to (except for the rainbow ones) and some of the gaps are pretty nice, like on the flat box, flat-down-flat rail and flat rail. There are supposed to be more rails out soon, I'm sure as soon as the weather gets better. There's a battle ship rail and a larger flat-down-flat rail laying on the side of the one trail. As for hits they have one table as of now but I've heard there's plans for more when it gets colder. Its awesome how many rails are out in that park, and the set-up is real nice. Perfect for hiking or taking runs.

  6. I recently set up my new board (k2/www/152) as 15, and - 15. I have my feet equally set so riding switch feels the same as riding regular. This works out nicely for this board cuz its twin tipped (no distinctive nose/tail). I don't know the distance between my bindings and I really should figure it out because its much farther apart than my stance last year.

  7. Bro, if its anything like the k2 skis they have a factory wax on them when you first buy them they don't need to be waxed.

Yeah my last board definetly didn't need wax when I bought it, but this one is sticky on the bottom. I strapped into it in my living room and I can't get it to slide at all. So I'm gonna wax the mo. Thanks for the tips.

  8. I just got a new board (k2/www) and it needs to be waxed. I've never had to wax a board before cuz I've been having shops repair the base after each season and they do a nice job. I got some iron on wax and I was wondering if anybody has done an iron-on waxing with a snowboard, and if they have, got any tips on how to not screw it up? Thanks all.

  9. yeah the mountain is getting so bare, and there is tons of debris laying all over the place. stuff like pine needles, rocks, gravel, and not to mention dirt all over the base area. the base of my snowboard is turning black and its getting so messed up everyday that i ride. definetly bring crappy skis/board if you ride there from now on.

  10. Was anyone at CB on Saturday night (2/29/03)? I was talking to a board crew guy who was raking the Rodo park and he said some guy flew off the landing of the last hit in Laurel and he collided with a snowmobile and got medivaced to Lehigh. They said he flew off the landing because it was so rutted out (like it always is). Did anyone else catch that story?
