i want to go so bad steeze but my parents are telling me no because we're going to wisp the weekend after this one. sorry
by the way i didn't make patrol , they said i was going to fast and not carving enough.... but the other people were going mad slow with these big ass turns and i was still in more control when carving mad fast did i mention they were falling at the lift etc. all i can say is if i get hurt i hope one of them doesn't help me . oh well it was a couple hours of free boarding on shitty snow lol.

I'll give you another free one you leeech cheap skates, suck it up and drive over.. If you call me, I might be able to get you in for free. Did you need security included, cause I have that too

Montana, but at least you got the rockies right.
oops, i knew that

Certainly let us know if they do so we can check it out. Sounds like they are working hard to get it ready if they are blowing that much and shaping/digging.
Sibhusky, i designate it your job to find us the cheapest realeastate in colorado so we can move out there .

it'll be march 3rd, 4th, and 5th when we go :/ PS we're probably going to wisp
-
Sorry I'll miss the PASR gathering. I'll be at Roundtop on Friday, but not Saturday or Sunday. I prefer not waiting in lift lines on weekends. Hope everyone has fun. Volklyokel
damn.... i already went monday and am going thursday night to get evaluated for ski patrol (can you say free snowboarding? )

OMG! looks like i'm actually going next weekend . my mom wants to go to wisp.... but i wanna go to the poconos. i'm going to try and talk her into one of these mountains. i'll be sure to let you guys know which i end up going to.
-
i know hunter doesn't have any not even little side trails
Hmm, well elk is sounding like a good choice right now but i'm not 100% sure yet. I'll be sure to let you guys know which of them i'm going to so if you want we can meet up.
-
That sounds like a good time to ski at Elk.
i really wanna snowboard some somewhat backcountry terrain also(i realize im not gonna get 3 feet of powder), i know they have alot of trees in the poconos so are there many glade trails with a steep slope?
-
Ok, so march 17,18, and 19 my family is looking for a small ski trip to take somewhere and because we've been the to poconos before we decided it would be a good place to go back to (out west trip is next year ). So anyways what are your guys' recommendations as far as the best mountains to go to? I would love to go to booter just so i can hang with doug and jeff but what other resorts will have decent skiing for the late season? Gimmie some input. excuse any sp mistakes

ahh, yea....gotta be at least 18 to work for me....
yea i was talking to two park crew people last night on the lift and they said they would have a pretty sick crew if they could hire 16 year old volunteers. they were the ones that told me to yell at the kids going off the side of the trannys<--- (did i use the right word? ) leading up to some of the boxes and rails.
-
roundtop has more than one dept. that has volunteers... some of our ski patrollers seem to have a bit of a power trip though which gives the entire staff a bad name and come to not be liked by anyone on the mountain..
on the other hand, park and pipe crew has open positions that are volunteer at well, with the same benifits.
oh really, i would love to go in that direction but i dont think im old enough :/ only 16
-
nice yeh i came at night.
halfpipe=wasnt open
park was ok closed off the half the rails in rail park
my friend broke his arm lol
was there today everything was open but the super pipe (never going to open ) and the top of gun barrel. the snow was wet and packed making it icy later in the night, it was very crowded, and the food was very expensive. j/k i had a good time, turns out i might apply to be a volunteer ski patrol person which = free boarding . <-- anyone have any insight on this?
technically it was yesterday by 10 minutes

exhibition park open today with just 2 decent sized jumps. we will be adding some rails either later tonite after we close, or during the week
awsome
-
Since they haven't spoke for themselves. I will... Check out the website they have created from a home mountain perspective. I like how the feel and tone of the stuff they have on their site. Check em out! The link is on our links page.
i've watched most of their videos and like how they try to keep an update on roundtop parks because roundtops site is kinda lacking ;o, good stuff
-
from the videos and pictures that i have seen of roundtops park this year... it doesnt look any better than my backyard. everything seems so small, low to the ground, and ride-on crap... is that just the beginner park or something that people film in? if thats the only park then i dontk now why people keep talkin up the park there when it looks like that.
yea the only things i have seen people filming in would be their begginner park due to it being the only one open till recently. exhibition (big park) is quite nice, just not open yet due to the lack of snow :/.

ok..i'm letting the cat out of the bag right now... IF we get some sort of snowmaking weather, the plan is to set up a park on fife and drum for the competition and leave it up until exhibition opens... its not going to be anything huge, i have 2 brand new rails that i've been keeping under wraps that i'll put out for the comp, and i'd like to see alot more jumps, but that is going to require alot of snow... right now we have tomorrow (friday) and saturday night to make snow... most of the focus will be on areas that need it most, but if we can pull it off, it will be done... i'm not making any promises on anything, nor trying to get anyone's hopes up, but that is the plan that is in the works.... but the temps will be our friend or enemy...bottom line is its gonna be a last minute call...
we love you joe g! lol ^^ is also why i love this forum

as soon as the weather breaks snowmaking will resume. before the weather turned crappy on us, we were looking to have the ex. park open late last week. but as of right now, we have to focus on getting more snow on the mountain in general. we are possibly going to have to close the bunker hill park sometime this week due to a lack of snow in there right now.
thats ashame

Welcome to PASR
Some advice for the park, don't be afraid to go fast at things, if you go too slow, you will have a greater chance of getting hurt (especially if they are things like rainbows and battleships, you wouldn't want to get stuck on something like that).
Also, whenever I hit something for the first time, I always unstrap and take a look at it before I hit it. Usually most rails, boxes, etc. look much bigger than they actually are from the drop in because of the mountain's slope angle.
i realized that after i went over the battleship box haha, good ideas thanks

Just bought drake mikey leblanc 06 bindings can't wait to try them out, anyone hear any good/bad reviews about them?
-
Soooooooo, anyone know when Exhibition Park is going to open? by the way i'm new to the whole park scene so if anyone is going up the same day i am and wants to give me a few pointers i'd be greatful. last time i went i hit the battleship box they had which was really fast and nice but i only 50-50ed it because thats all i knew how to do / was not scared to do lol. i hit their down box 50-50ing that and their kicker which i did some random grab i dunno what it's called lol.
