  1. That area goes way back to the 60's when Jersey was dotted with all kinds of small ski areas. Actually, that was one of the larger ones. Amazingly, it's held on all these years while most of the others faded away; ie Snowbowl (on the site of Jefferson Twsp HS), Belle Mt outside of Trenton, Peapack, and many others. The smallest ones had minimal vert and rope tows but for $1.00 tickets, they were great places to hit every nite after supper instead of watching TV. Good times.

  2. Anybody get over to see this fiasco they built in the Meadowlands yet. Their website says they have a 800' slope for year-round skiing and riding serviced by a chairlift.

Kinda short for skiing but it is an opportunitey to get some runs in in the heat of the summer.

  3. I'd say I'm looking for an all mt ski. Too old to do "park" but got into doing the bumps last year. Presently riding Solomon Tornados (163). Would be looking for something in the same approximate length with a pronounced turned up tail.

  4. Anyone have the inside scoop on the mountain adventure thing at CB that's supposed to open in 2 weeks? I've done zip lines and ride a segway in work . Looks like they're going all out to make off season something other than just a water park.

P.S. It's hot down here, how many more days til the lifts start turning again??

  5. Used to ski Elk alot during the 80's and early 90's. I remember good condtions and grooming. They used to let the one slope adjacant to the lift bump up and these bumps weren't C-cup, they were definetly VW bug size.

  6. Sounded like a great time. Will be at Hunta for a couple of days the week after New Years. Sleeping in the car??? In the winter?? You're hardcore Moe. You need to buy a van with all wheel drive. Maybe in my younger days I would've done that. My idea of roughing it now is the Holiday Inn. My hat's off to you man!

    PAX

  7. This has to be the earliest I ever remember any snow activity happening at CB and my experience there goes way back to 1968. Can't wait until the start of ski season!! :drool :drool

Hey, how about getting the webcam up and running if possible.

    Thanx

  8. How were the snow fleas, or gnats , or whatever the hell those biting things are? Last time I played in the snow in August in the Rockies, damn near got eaten alive.

HEY!! Maybe just a little over 100 days til something opens in the Pocs!! :clap2 :clap2 :clap2 :clap2
