  1. Yeah, I was planning on getting over there but got tied up at work. Was hoping to hear more about the new plans. Hopefully the thin turnout doesn't stop the attempts to have these meetings!

Don't know if it means anything but I just got back from a week in tahoe and the terrain parks there suck compared to bears.... although there were some bigger hits.

Just thought I would toss out a compliment since all the high schoolers here are only capable of whining.

  2. What happened to BC's park crew? When there was a minimal amount of features early on in the season, the crew was all over it but now that the parks are fully loaded with hits and rails, I never see anyone on the hill maintaining. A lot of the landings off the rails are all rutted out, take-offs on booters have channels and then the landings have been bumped out. I know that these things happen when we get dumped on but isn't it the park crew's job to fix what gets screwed up? The park would be much better if it could just get a little bit of maintanence throughout the day and night.

sounds like someone ran out of tampex

  3. Whats goin on with the landings on the big kickers? The first one throws you into a landing with a fall-line heading towards skiers right; basically right into that rail line near the woods at a high speed :no . It's not only super sketchy trying to land but then you have to worry about people that might be riding over on that side of the trail. It also makes it more difficult to get a good line into that second kicker. And that second kicker's landing sucks too. The take-offs are pretty good: they're staggered and are different sizes but why does the landing have to be staggered too. I don't really know how to describe it but it's almost like its domed out so that the skier's left option has the same distance to the landing as the skier's right option even though that right option is set back like 4 or 5 ft. :confused Can we please get transitions for our landings that are more consistent and even? Check the trannies on link for reference

    nick's run and kangaroo line

If you were a little tougher it wouldn't matter......

  4. Plenty of snow.

i went up sunday night when i THOUGHT the rain was going to stop. it was icy as sh*t. my girl took a hard spill and ive been hesitant to go since. I wanna hit it up today...but east coast ice is a killer.

Yeah I've come to find out you can't really rely on some people's reports. They are always going to say it is awesome just to sell their mountain.

Like when it has rained and been above 40 degrees for 4 days and they say there is plenty of snow and that they are blowing snow. I'm going to have to call shenanigans.

  5. those numbers are astoundingly minute. i wouldnt publish them either, haha.

No its at least 500. I had my gps watch out there the other day and it was showing around 550. Its acurate to within 30 ft.

  6. i read somewhere...i think it was transworld..when doing boardlides...it sounds dumb but "Pet the dog" and ull almost never slip out...just bend overl ike ur trying to pet a dog and that weight shift will be perfect

That definately sounds like a move...... That is hilarious if anyone asks me what I'm doing tomorrow I'm going say petting the animals.

  7. I was up there all day yesterday. The park set up on Bear and Cascade was sick except for the snow blowers that made the kickers unhitable. But some really nice rail lines on both runs.

I like kickers... tried a rail once and ate it. Any suggestions about trying to start to do rails. I haven't been snowboarding that long. Still need to get a helmet as I crushed my head and goggles at cammelback two weeks ago. Any recs.

  8. Is timberline open? I just called and they said it was but the website says closed.

What parts of the park will be open tomorrow?

    And what does it have?

    also,

Conditions report would be cool if anyone has been up there recently.

  9. Here are the details for the MASS comp this weekend at Bear Creek. Registration takes place each morning from 7:30-8:30am. Participants must have a USASA license ($60) and pay a $20 bib deposit to enter. Also, competitors will need a valid Bear Creek season pass or lift ticket. (Lift tickets will be available for a discounted cost to competitors.) Practice takes place from 9am-9:45am and the competition starts at 10am and lasts until about 5 or so.

Black Bear Park will be closed Saturday during the Slopestyle competition.

The halfpipe will be closed on Sunday (and possibly on Saturday to prepare it for Sunday's comp.)

If you have additional questions about the competitions, visit the MASS website or call 570-643-3128.

Ok thanks.... I guess it is off to blue. There Park is kind of crappy right. Haven't been there in the day.

  10. dude im sure the park wont be too good after all that rain but it should be ok... and yeah it will be slushy i dont know if thats good or bad for you

I thought it wasn't supposed to rain until saturday night.... I'm thinking of heading up saturday morning now. I would rather it be slushy then slam my ass on sheets of ice. I went last sunday night to Blue Mt and it was completely miserable.... I never want to do that again.

  11. i'll be up there around noonish. look for an 05 burton dominant (white on top) with white custom bindings, a flat black helmet, brown goggles, black pants and prolly a green jacket. my haggard hair will be flying in all directions from under the helmet. thats a dead give away. hope to see u there.

Just got a Dominate.... how do you like it.
