  1. ... but yeah i think they should have sunday night discounts cuz after a heavy crowd comes in they rape you 30+ bucks to ski there rock solid bullshit.

You do realize is what not icy because of heavy crowds, the mountain has western and southern exposure. It gets sun all day long. When it is warm all day it will melt and freeze at night. Sno doesn't get crowded. I went up for the first time this year two Saturdays ago and is just like I remember it, fast runs, slow lifts, and no lift lines.

Also ski during the day, night skiing is for kids in high school.

  2. ^Wrong....since I've been doing all the facebook work for Sno & doing the photography work AND still working within the Lift Department..plus my own businesses...you sometimes really truly don't have enough time to get on to other things...forums being one of them....soooo much time.

Well..anyway, that's my excuse for all that....but....I will make time for PASR now that the bike shop should slow down....but, it will be the good stuff gentlemen....you want to rag...I won't waste time with you.

Anyway..here are some pics I shot the past few weeks..so, peruse them..and I promise, I'll be here each day for conversations/suggestions/ideas....ect.

One good thing is..and I know I mentioned it...is our photo contest we do each week...that has been a great success...granted for the younger set with the cookie thing and all. We now do a photo shoot each Sat & Sunday at 1pm on Whistler..and I'm shooting the NASTAR Races on Thursday nights now as well..so...come on up!

You are a clown. Everyone posting in here wants to hear the good news Sno has about its finances. Until then, people are going to bust your balls and call you out. December has come and gone, tell us already.

  3. Hahahaha..I've been riding that Merry-go-Round for 7 seasons now and I'm pretty much willing to bet the house it's more of a snafu in billing or other issues that shut the power off.....when is the last time you tried to get your power company to do something fast to straighten out a mess.."press one for english..press 2 for Spanish"?!

Anyway..back to what is left of the bike season!

You need to take the blinders off if you don't believe they are having cash problems.

  4. i still want to get here at some point in my life. i made the trip to seven springs this year... i don't know if i have enough motivation to make the trip up there, especially since i want to get to elk one day.

Drive here one Saturday morning and ski Elk, and stay overnight at one of the many hotels in Scranton. Ski Sno on Sunday and drive home. You can get a hotel for less than $69 a night and two lift tickets will be about $100.

  5. eelios the closest you will get to public transportation to pa ski resorts is taking a Martz bus out of Port Authority. There is a drop off near the Crossings, so you'd be a couple miles from Camelback. But Martz isn't cheap, roundtrip would probably be in the $55-$65 range. Martz is a piece of shit and charges way too much. I've been e mailing Megabus for months to come to NEPA. Their Syracuse, Buffalo, and Toronto bus all run through Scranton but won't stop here.

  6. Hey, about long haul... I only worked for a few years, but obviously, and it should be no secret that running an extra lift when it's not necessary on the week days is not cost effective and doesn't bring more customers, it's always been like that for as long as I could remember, besides that, It's probably not maintained as strictly as the other lifts because they open the other half of the mountain first and move towards that lift, plus, it's a really, really long lift, meaning more towers, more components, more chairs, and probably a larger motor meaning more strain on the drive.. There are probably tolerances the lifts have to hold and I'm betting a lot more components or something I have no clue about is out of these tolerances, and it's not worth fixing. If I were sno right now and a manager, I'd try to prove to the investors that this place does turn a decent profit, then start dumping money back into it in a couple years.. If sno want's to be a hit, just be something close, reliable, well groomed, and not completely packed like the rest. An amazing park? shut up and go to boulder, nice fast lifts? go somewhere else, but what good are they when you have a lift line. yea, sno usually has like a 30 second lift line. plus it's somewhere close for like 5+ cities at the base of the mountain... The business is right in front of them and obviously they're on the right track.

    An 8 pack... Okay.

just a rant, I've come to the conclusion that the terrain is pretty much at it's limits, I've looked at topographical maps (google earth) and can't map any feasible runs or lifts. Ohh and when people say "It was built on the wrong side of the mountain, the terrain on the back side of the mountain isn't that great, plus gaining access via roads would be nearly impossible unless they had a road to the top of the mountain and the lodge, and lift drives based out of the top of the mountain.

Skier17, you don't know what your talking about.

The only staffing issues they really had was scum bag lifty's not showing up for work, The year's I worked they didn't really skimp on scheduling employees and I was a lifty the first and second year sno mountain existed, It's not montage anymore so get over it.

long haul is an agonizingly long lift, I'm sure If they opened it, you'd ride it like once or twice and get over it, specially when it's cold out.

I'm really excited The mountain is doing well. This is great news to me..

You do realize it is on the wrong side of the mountain because It faces south west, not because of the terrain. Also the backside of the mountain is half a mile from Rt. 502 in Pittston Twp and Moscow.
