  1. If you are out there Keith.......

Any word on what the setup might be Sunday morning???

I am reeely happy to say that Sunday School will be a pipe jam. I just talked to the boss and he gave me the go ahead.

Registration will be at the top lodge from 7.30 am to 9.am. $5.00 to enter. Hope all the locals give us some support and join in the fun.

  2. Thanks for a logical, informative and well written report Method.

Just so you shreds know, our park will be progressed upon on a diaily basis. As we blow more snow, the features will take on a different shape. We have more jibs to install. Also this weekend is special. We have a lot of traffic thru the parks and as such have constructed them to "accomodate" all the noobs, and their grandparents too !! The lips will also be made more difficult with bigger gaps. But for now, most everybody passing thru can have some sort of fun as opposed to just being a gaper.

You should all check out the rail jam on Sunday morning. New snowboard and other mad prizes for steeziest slides. And only $5.00 to enter. Registartion on sidewinder from 8AM to 9AM.

  3. not sure if i follow. you could set it up higher off the ground and have a mellow urban style lip on either side of it? sure, you miss the first 2 feet or so, but it'd be better than how it is now. its just kinda awkward right now.

This rail is gonna be moved to the top of the park. It was constructed to be a low rail. Where it is now, the terrain is very steep. We are fixing the lip to make it better today. On Monday the rail will be gone.

  4. its not a step up. its more or less a stepdown. and you can get speed if you hike up a lil. but once you have enough speed you still wont want to hit it. theres no pop at all and the landing is nice and steep so you either case it, or over shoot it... there is no sweet landings. they built a good landing and a good takeoff, but for two different style jumps. the landing would be nice for a step over/really poppy table. the takeoff would be nice on a 45 foot cliff into 3 feet of powder.

they know how to build things i guess, just dont know how to match them up and make it work.

flat box is good. round coping is nice, its real long too. but the lip is too far back.

Totally Agree. The lip on the rail cannot be any closer if you wanna ride the whole rail.

You should have come to the Park Crue meeting. You would have been hired.

  5. So the jump is a step down. The rail has a small gap on lip and the stairset is where it was 2 years ago.

We will knock the jump down and remove the rail when we start building the top part. These features are temp, so that we can open up this terrain. Have fun !!

  6. The flat box is not going to be ride on. We are thinking of building a roller before it all the way across the trail. That way the "transients" will not use the lip as a jump and you guys can ollie off the roller and gap onto the rail. We'll see how it pans out tonite. It's pretty steep down there.

The jump will boot you out and up. If your speed is right, you will float right onto the landing.

The new rail will be put out on the first headwall, as soon as we can open up the whole trail.

We will be blowing snow on Comearound again, soon.

  7. We're gonna open the lower part of upper Sidewinder (If u know what I mean). Access will be thru Lazy Mile.

We are setting up a 30' step-up jump, a long flat box, and the our trusty stairset. Should make for some more variety

until we can open up more terrain.

  8. dont expect it until sidewinder is open... hopefully it opens before christmas... doubt it will...

i think the series will most likely start sometime in January.

That's correct. The series will be held on Sidewinder. Pray for cold temps.

  9. I'd enter the big air if they had a big booter right before falls...I love getting mad steezy air..It's the rails that scare me. I don't want to get nutted because if I damage my jewels..then there won't be any Lil Grilled Steeze Sandwiches running around one day. Burn the circus rails..circus rails are for clowns..

If we have it. That's where it would be. So I can count on you ??

  10. i would hope not. there's no reason they couldnt just set up those fences to close off a few rails, to keep competitors in that area and everyone else out. it worked for the pond skim and palmerton dumpster box race (if i remember correctly at least, they had fences set up there) so they should just do the same to box off a jib feature or two.

Wow !!! Some one here today, with brains ... That's postin' Kevin. You're right on the money.

  11. thank god. and keith... judging from that flythrough thing they showed at the movie tonight, it looked like sidewinder was about 1000 feet longer than it actually is... how is all that stuff gonna fit?

I haven't seen it and the copy that I've got doesn't play ! However, that is some new fangled technology and we have to debug. Also we are probably going to discuss and fine tune the placement of the features again this week. So you should just look at that as an estimated look at how the park will materialize. As for the extra 1000', maybe the spirits that live in the haunted Shiv shack are looking kindly at us and gave us an early Christmas present....

  12. so that means that most of the 'features' in sidewinder now, are going to be removed and placed elsewhere?

Where did you get the notion that we are removing stuff from Sidewinder to place elsewhere???? :confused

There will be some new jibs in Sidewinder. The "features" that are definitely retired are the CB and the DFD C Rail.

  13. While that's cool and all.. why? I think having a bulldozer under a box is cool and all, but it limits setup options. As far as a huge box like that going into sidewinder....not really stoked on it. Nice, simple rails are what gets the parks hopping. People don't get stoked on doing tricks on rails/boxes because of what they are. If people want to get excited, they're gonna get excited by having practical jibs you can progress on. Like the swingset- You can go over it- yippee! As far as progression, there's not much more you can do. Not to say people don't find a way to do crazy shit on the circus rails, but there's a point when a park gets to have more "show" than "go". I'd personally like to see more "go." this year. ...not to say there won't be any go. Every year it seems like we take a few steps foward with a few nice jibs, but we take another backwards with crazy shit.

It's not going in Sidewinder. Sidewinder is gonna be sweet rails jibs & jumps.

  14. Blue must be committed to the park, why else would they have taken Keith out of ski school to focus 100% of his time to the park?

 This year we are very focused on constructing and maintaining a rideable and fun park. We are gonna end up with 4 parks. Terrain run is very easy and only for beginners. We have some really easy new boxes and rails.

Comearound will progress to the intermediate level. We are excited about Sidewinder. Whole bunch of new snowmaking will allow us to to sculpt the trail to a very high level. Snocross also is gonna be pretty sick. We're cutting the banks on the s turns with the Zaugg, which means they will be right up on the back of the turn. [No pass behind the banks] It will be like having 4 QP's one after another. And a rail garden after the turns. I have a feeling it's going to be rather good this year. :naughty

  15. battleship and rainbow rails set up with nice lips on them? that'd be fun. what happened to the c rail? that thing was fun too. ok, one more for now... remember the single barrel that went from the halfpipe deck down into the lower park? bring that back, that setup was way ahead of its time.

    hi Justin,

you mean the flat step down to flat single barrel?
