  1. I recently purchased new Fischer WC 4 boots that are just one millimeter shorter than my other boots. My own measurements agree with the close sizing. I have also had both pair of skis tuned and binding checked. Some say that one mm is no need to get a binding check because it is well within the tolerances. But one shop said,
  2. I'm looking at Utah for Feb. Stay at Park City, ski about four diferent spots. I love Snow Basin and Alta.
  3. It's September. I hope you are all well into planning your winter ski trips. Get um while they last. I have been to several places in Utah, Steamboat Vail and Beaver Creek. So, I need another trip. I am thinking Big Sky, but it seems about five hundred bucks more than other trips. I loved Utah and Steamboat was cool. Can't wait to try the new Allstars. Rippin this year. What trips are you all planning? It is cool to hear about other people's trips. Let's hear it. It is also time to get the legs going. Be strong, be fast, go wild.
  4. Anybody been to Big Sky? I am thinking about a trip to Big Sky and would like some info. Last year was good snow but I heard snow may be a problem.
  5. How about construction problems. Anyone have info about bending or other problems with Allstars? I am leaning tward the 05-06 since I found them for about 550 in New Hampshire. By the way, the Volkl office is in Lebanon, NH. Nice place, and the people seem easy to talk to.
  6. I am looking at new skis and found places selling new, left over, Volkl Allstar 05-06 skis for under 600. Does anyone have info about the 06-07. I called Volkl and they said the new skis have two layers of titanal metal as opposed to one this year. Is it worth going to the new for 400. more? I heard the 05-06 were real fast. Were there any problems like bending in last year's model or did they change just to change?
  7. Brighton is a snowboarders Mecca. Snowbird and Snowbasin are outrageous. Park City has fantastic terrain parks.
  8. Yea, it is safe. I did Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, Snow Basin, Vail, Beaver Creek and Steamboat alone. Did the whole mountain. From the Park City or Salt Lake City areas you can get easy and cheap tranportation to all the mountains. You must do Alta and Snow Basin.
  9. I absolutely say yes, you can ski Utah alone. I have taken a few trips out west, and every one of them I skied alone. My last trip was to Utah in Feb. Fantastic week. Great skiing, never alone. You will meet people, especially locals. Snow Basin and Alta are great mountains that always have tons of friendly locals. You will have a great time. Ski the whole mountain. I did. The only place I would be careful about is the tree skiing on deep powder days if it looks like no one else is in the trees. You do not want to get buried up to your nose when there is nobody in site. But ski it. Explore and find the wildest bowls and steeps. You will never forget it. Wake up early, eat a huge breakfast and get out early to the lifts; chew up massive vertical and then do it again the next day. There are always cool B and G?s to catch a bite.
  10. I am looking at new Volkl Allstars for next year and found some decent deals online: $600. to $700. The local shops treat me well and I like working through them, but the price is hard to pass up. What to you think?
  11. Found this site yesterday. Pretty Cool. Yea, I am concussion Ted. Had a concussion at the end of Dec., the flu in Feb., but still turning. Just got back from Blue. Managed a hard driving 34 runs in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Then added a few for the party. 50 days, 1,000,000+ vertical. Found a bunch of PASR dudes, wanted to join in more lifts, but had to chase snow vertical. The year worked out great, though lacking snow. Cheers to Blue Mountain. Racing was very cool. Bombing the mountain in groups of six or so at a time was quite awesome. That's what we need... a bunch of yahoo's charging Razors at 50+ mph. Doug, I bought my bottle of champagne on the way home.
