Big Boulder is hosting its first movie premier.

    Don't miss this event!

For more info go to http://www.jfbb.com

  2. JFBB is not encouraging downhill skiing in the terrain parks and that is why I placed the response of using the Smart Style messages. JFBB encourages proper use of the terrain parks.

There will still be a sign stating no rental equipment on the BB Terrain Park.

Everything will become clearer as JFBB moves forward with all the changes it is implenting this year. Check jfbb site daily to see what is going on-updates will be posted there first. Shawn and Julian are here and working hard to get everything rolling for this upcoming season stay tuned in.

  3. JFBB encourages both skiers and snowboarders to always ride at their ability level whether it be in the park or on a slope.

JFBB believes the "Smart Style" message along with existing safety messages; will help to heighten the sense of education and awareness about the proper use of terrain parks in a way that is not hard to deliver, or for that matter to digest.

The more people we can educate and get involved to help to spread the knowledge, the better!

There are three main messages that are associated with Smart Style:

    LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP

Scope around the jumps first, not over them. Know your landings are clear and clear yourself out of the landing area.

    EASY STYLE IT

Start small and work your way up. (Inverted aerials not recommended).

    RESPECT GETS RESPECT

From the lift line through the park.

  4. I agree with everything you are saying. It takes money to make improvements and I'm all for it. The only thing I question is why it costs $100 more to go directly to the lifts if you say that validating will take less than 2 minutes? What is the point of even offering that if it is a non-issue? It makes it look like you are sticking it to the people who want to go directly to the slopes.

Not at all we want to be sure that the person using the pass is really that person. Trying to put an end to the scams.

  5. ... or JFBB is treating it that way to make some extra money. It obviously matters to the people on this board!

The goal for JFBB is to make your experience the best it can be!

So yes of course I see that it matters to those discussing the issue but why get hung up on something so trival as validating your pass...when you look at the whole picture and compare it really isn't a big issue unless you make it one.

If JFBB wasn't making HUGE capital improvements then I could see why you would be so upset, but JFBB is making a huge investment in making the areas so much more so give it chance. You got a taste of it last year just imagine what is to come this year.

Who else in the area had enough snow to have a rail jam in MAY???

  6. I just got done reading all of the comments on the new things that are happening at JFBB and some of you seem really upset about validating your season pass. It is being made into much more than it is.

There will be a designated line on weekends and holidays or you can go to any ticket window for season pass holders to validate their pass and receive a daily snopass-so there will be no waiting in line. Tops it should take no more than a minute if that to do this.

Why not focus on what JFBB is doing-the snowmaking is going to be out of this world!! Which means JFBB will open earlier in the season and stayopen longer-so you will get your money's worth out of your season pass! All of the parks at both mountains have been revamped so you haven't seen anything yet...I will post some photos later of some of the new rails that are being made for the upcoming season.

Not only do you get $20 added on to your JFFBB Bucks but you get 2 FREE snopasses to give to whomever you want and use at anytime during the season-so the prices may have gone up @$50 but JFBB is giving you $100 back.

Take my word the snow will be worth the 1 minute it takes to validate your pass...

  7. Here is another update for the Big Boulder May Day Rail Jam!!

The guys just finished grooming and were able to get 2 rails and 2 boxes set up. The snow is really soft so they were not able to get the box to box combo set up.

Registration will begin at 10am tomorrow at the Double Decker in which you can practice as soon as you are registered. The groms will have the first session starting at noon sharp! The 16 and over class will start immediately after. The top 10 from each group will advance to the finals. Will give more details tomorrow at the riders meeting which will be at 11:45am.

BBQ pit will be fired up and the deck will be open for all to watch this spectacular event!!

Prizes sponsored by: Oakley & Armada, Ocean Outfitters, WMMR, Mike n Matts, Skirmish, 940 Snowboards, The Ski Bum, and JFBB.

    See you tomorrow!

  8. jeez... I haven't checked in for a couple of days. everything sounds good for this weekend, lets hope they are prepared to handle the event.

Here is another update for this weekend's event:

There is going to be 2 rails set up a 6" and 10" rail. There is also going to be a down flat down box and a box to box combo. There could be more but for now this is going to be the set up and you can choose the feature you want to hit. It will be jam format.

The barbecue will be going on Saturday. If you are under 18 please go jfbb.com and download the entry form in advance so your parents can sign. Practice will start at 9:30am and the event starts at noon with the groms up first so if you want to practice get here early!

    See you all Saturday.

  9. haha that would be an awesome idea. just something small to throw yourself around on. i dont think that would be out of the question judging by the way people are talking about the amounts of snow that they still have.

Here's another update on the prize situation and I am still working on getting some great stuff:

Season Pass for 06-07 season and

Pair of tickets to Dave Matthews concert on June 26 at the Tweeter Center

and a pair of tickets for Jam on the River festival concert at Penn?s Landing going on Memorial Day weekend.

Wanted to get an update out there to all:

There will be a different setup for this event -the staircase is being put away and rumor has it that the park crew will be bringing out the Urban Assault 40' rail and some other features so you can ride all day...

Also for all who compete they will get a lift ticket for next season. Some other prizes include 2-1 day surf camps, goods from Oakley, 940 Snowboards, and still working on getting more prizes and giveaways! There will also be a cash purse-the more competitors the higher the purse...
