It'd be nice to see the 40 foot rail in blackbear setup as a flat rail like it was last year, or even slightly up.
I agree with this
-
Bring out that really long flat bar, and do something creative with a staircase.
-
When is the next build happening? Also I think the propane tank and fat tube would be more fun set up as waterfall instead of an elbow.
-
The jump line in black bear is terrible, however the hip jump in cascade is fun to gap.
-
Looks like a hike park is being setup.

Bear's supposed to get a foot of snow wednesday.
-
Looks like piles are starting to form. Everyone's saying they won't open, but is there any chance of a hike park?
-
Yea but there is the little problem on this site at least that there is basically no marketing representation whatsoever. And I'm about as unbiased as it gets when it comes to park updates. It's not my full time job or even my favorite mountain. I work there because I like the extra money, I like the mountain(just as much as any other mountain in PA), and I like working behind the scenes on the hill to improve other skiers and riders experience. I like the park scene even if I'm not a huge park rat myself.
I'm curious, did you get the job?
-
Hopefully bear opens early again. Also, does anyone know if any new rails were made?
-
I probably won't do it this year, but would would happen if I hiked bear creek after they closed. Would security yell at me, would they call the cops, or would a bear attack me? Has anyone done this before?
-
Is that setup still there, and when is bear officially closing? Is it still the 30th?
-
It would be nice if a smaller jump was put next to the larger one on the second jump.
-
The first jump in black bear is perfect, but the second one needs to be smaller.
-
Would like to see a smaller hit next to the big one in BB. Because of the setup with it just being one big jump the majority of people have just been going down Cascade making it a shit show when it gets crowded with people that shouldn't be riding in the park.
With the flat light yesterday morning that big jump was sketchy to hit which sucked because it was hitting well. A smaller hit with that nice big landing would have been prime yesterday.
I would rather have a jump line back in BB again, The big jump is getting a little bit old and theres another one in cascade.
-
I wish bear would close as late as possible, they could only keep lift B running and a few trails open if they're worried about profit, but I don't know the logistics. Also, I like the jumps as it is currently.
-
how many people have you seen hit that? i just feel like theres no way to dial in your speed without taknig a huge injury risk.
I hit that big jump a few times, you just gotta start 30-40 feet behind the park gate, don't turn, and you'll be all good. I knuckled it the first time I hit it and it didn't really hurt.
-
Yeah I live south of bear, I envy you for living so close.
-
Well that sucks for the park, but there will be some nice pow turns.
-
10" where? Not in my pants.
That made be laugh, but were I live i'm getting about 9''
-
Tom, any planes to do something with the 10 or so inches of snow? Make a big gap jump at upper cascade?
-
I was there sunday and the park was on point
-
Did a rebuild happen on cascade yet?
-
Is the arbor rail still around cuz its always set up, but this year I haven't even seen it lined up with the other rails near the trees. Also I have to say the jumps are looking beautiful this year.

Nice pics Kyle.
We're changing up a few features in Black Bear tonight to get some freshness in for the weekend. We're going to let the weekly monsoon pass us and then getting into next week expect each park to be switched up quite a bit if not completely. Probably Cascade first since that's a pretty tired setup and a lot of snow needs to be pushed around on that trail. I really wish this weather would give us a break..
Someone post pics of black bear tomorrow.

Skied today until 3, both cascade and black bear are on point and are really fun right now.
