Just don't lean or put your skis/ board on the tables. Bob and I were yelled at once for leaning our skis up against a table (by the ticket counter) while strapping up our boots.
thats when you got to yell back
Same here..I'm looking forward to meeting Robert2how does a 2:00 meeting at the map by the top of six pack sound?
-
i will also be their on friday at around 1:00 taking laps on the 6 pack
-
razors edge had the best snow...it was just too damn windy.
i do remember a bit of a draft while on that trail...
-
doug what time will you be their tomorrow? and jeff i had no clue you were their or i would have waited up for ya. i thought that razors edge was pretty bomber till it was closed for race team
-
not unless you want to sell it for around 500
-

Okay, So i wanna know what you people think about Burton... Because i've always thought they just seemed to expensive for not as good as performance as some of the other brands... but i could be wrong. so i want to know what you guys think.
To me the whole EST system or whatever seemes just like a ploy to get money, and i guess it'd be a little helpful but you have to get a WHOLE knew binding and board for it to be compatible. and i mean the burton vapor is like 1000 dollars. now come on dont you think thats a little over priced. and i read a couple reviews and the dude gave like 4 cons. and if i'm paying 1000 dollars i dont want any cons in my board. lol.
It just seems like there are other companies doing alot more for the sport of snowboarding without having the expensive price. So I just wanted to know what you guys thought about burtons performance and there prices compared to other brands.... cuz the only hardgood thing i've had of burtons is boots.. so i really dont know how they are...
i am not a fan of Burton at all, but no board has no cons period. my first snowboard boots were Burton, and since then its been Salomon. right now i think that Salomon and 32's are the favored boots by most people. i do love my Burton mittens, and i plan on buying the AK 3L throttle glove soon. EST is not just ploy i have spoken to dozens of people who now swear by it. I feel that most of Burtons gear is way over priced but thats what you get for the Burton name on your gear.

Spent a few hours there this afternoon. The snow was pretty much a wreck everywhere but it was fun to pretend I was skiing "off-piste"
Trail of the day seemed to be Razors Edge. Had a bunch of moguls on the top and was mostly ok the rest of the way down. Crowds were huge for an afternoon so I had to stay off Crazy Mile except for two runs.
I think I saw Atomic Jeff there from a lift a couple times and passing me once on Paradise. (Or was that someone else with an Obnoxious Blue coat? )
My wife got taken out on the upper part of Razors Edge by a SPORE who couldnt figure out how to handle bumps on a steep hill (Hint, Power Wedging isnt it )
Ride home ended up slow as the turnpike was snow covered from Lehigh to Quakertown.
i thought that conditions were pretty good from 12:30 to 3:30ish. I rode with atomic jeff for several runs including one quick run down paradise. It was a bit on the crowded side, but the VIP line made the lines reasonable.

left side of dream weaver had some rollers on it tonight

I'd like to add to this conversation.. that there are indeed challenging single blacks in PA.
Apparently that poster has never been to Blue Knob.
Stembogan Bowl/Trail/Field
Lower High Hopes
Lower Shortway
Edgeset
These are all difficult single blacks. IMO Lower Shortway should be double black, from the pics I've seen.
David
their should be NO double blacks in PA.
-
those guys at the shop are just foolin with ya .. the more holes you drill the more flex and less likely your board is to break
-
i should be arriving at blue around 3:00
-
Edit: Oh, and I usually get a professional tune at the beginning of the season, and then just sorta let the thing go to shit as the year goes on. I am however going to be schooled tonight by a friend on how to do it myself since I need to PTex a nice core shot. Figured may as well hot wax it while we've got everything out.
tuning gear yourself is where its at.. cheaper, and the gear stays in top condition longer.

i am guessing 14/15 are Saturday/Sunday so nope...

My one friend from another forum said this "Keep pirated video links in Private Messages or don't even share them at all... they are after all illegal; Don't rob film companies of their time and money; they lug tons of camera equipment around for half a year just to lock themselves in a basement and do editing for the other half; in the end it was all for you. Don't be cheap. Most snowboard DVDs might as well be 2-in-1 because bonuses usually equally a movie by themselves."
I tend to agree.. they do ALL that work.. put ALL the money into it.. to get people to go and just watch illegal copys for free..
hmmm. its probably only 25 bucks anyway...
Edit: although i have to admit that I dont always follow that rule either. I just Thought id be nice to get other people thinking.. Plus i do think it'd be smart to buy it if you have the cash instead of getting it illegally..
your missing the point that these companies pay all this money... its not because they what to make tons of money selling movies. they want people see pros using their gear and have every kid say well if it is good enough for Travis Rice it must be good enough for me. its all advertising.

So they are making something like Salomon's Answer? And to do away with the Zeppelin.. that board has been in there line forever.
this is what i was told from Rob at Nestors...
-
i only know where challenge razors and falls are...
-
apparently K2 is doing away with the zeppelin (which has NC) next year and replacing it with a new board that has no camber. from what i am told they are saying that no camber allows quicker edge to edge control and reduces chatter at high speeds.
-
k2 ambush 164 - freeriding
burton T6 159 - Rock board, and freestyle
-
a mogul filled white lighting (moguls suck)
that is an amazing trail that in my opinion actually deserves to be called a black diamond.
-
the blacks at blue really aren't difficult if you can get over the idea you are on a trail that is a little bit steeper than the others you realize that challenge and razors edge are no different than the school hill
-
this is my last week off before classes start up again, than its all night riding...
-
the size of boots is important (bindings typicaly come in small, medium, and large sizes), also the type of snowboarding you are doing is important. park riding you want flex, and for free riding you want stiff. toe caps are very nice they reduce pressure points, and increase control (most companies have some sort of toe cap system). the lighter the binding the better.
