  1. Yesterday (Sunday the 5th) was a pretty solid day at Boulder. We ran into several familiar faces and enjoyed the new rails on LOVE. BUT it would've gone down in history as JADIP, if it weren't for some random dude who seems to have watched one too many MSP films in the off season and thus tried to jump over fuckin' everything right under the BigBoulder lift. If you're familiar with the area, right at the base of the lift there's a bit of a gully with some tree stumps, rocks, and snowmaking pipes. This dude cooked in from the woods and barreled his ass over everything. He could've used a touch more speed, but that shit had himp PUMPED! He smashed pretty good, but got up smiling and screaming (somewhat awkwardly).

That shit seemed to flip a switch because absolutely everybody started jumping over, on, and through anything they could find...and I mean anything. We got one picture of our exploits after the random MSP fan dialed shit up to 11. Enjoy.post-1445-015307400 1291676918_thumb.jpg

  2. IMO the parks and rail have been in pretty good shape this year. The Park Cru is usually always working on something, and it's not like in past years with one doing work and the others watching.

My perception has been the exact opposite. I feel like it's pretty much been a park reminiscent of what you used to see circa 2002 or so (although the jumps were quite good for a midseason stretch there).

  3. In case you haven't heard, here's a link to an NS thread that has a couple links to official stories: http://www.newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/515735/

The stories claim that Whistler will be auctioned off, but I'm curious what the implications are for Mountain Creek. Anybody who lives in the Vernon area heard any whisperings about this? I haven't ridden at Mt Creek in years, but I'm still curious about the fate of my original home mtn.

  4. The airbag will be placed on valley school east next to tubing.

Nice. Out of the way. Think they'll create a special ticket that gives you access purely to the bag? Seems like they're approaching it as akin to a new ride at an amusement park.

  5. Yeah I dont know thats just what they told us. And even if you have a permit, Blue does not want anyone else to have a gun on the slopes. Somebody asked about that- which contradicts having an armed guard I know, but whatever its her mountain not mine. ha

About the airbag... I know I was pissed too. It will be under 24 watch with a cam and Im pretty sure they will have ski patrol on it all the time. Im learning double corks on that thing regardless. Just gotta learn how to control the flip spin ratio haha. It is really pointless to spend 30,000 dollars on an airbag though and not allow flips onto it. Jim Daley said they looked into inverts but the insurance was just too high or whatever. Ive given up hope for Blue to allow anything inverted.

I'm sure this has been covered in another thread...BUT where are they putting this airbag?

  6. Hello everybody. I'm looking for pics of Blue's more ridiculous park features from the past. The crackerbarrel, unbanked C, the other "s" rail type contraption, and anything else you can think of. I searched through 25 pages of old posts, but all I found pics of was the swingset and bus.

    Thanks so much.

  7. I was gonna say something negative about the irrational love of stairsets...but ya know what? It all looks OK...we're moving towards a reasonably designed park here.

Thanks for the pics. Hope it snows enough that those mtn bike trails are poachable.

  8. Welp it seems like there's gonna be an airbag taking up space where there should probly be straight rails and minishred (in my dreams)....BUT check this out: http://lineskis.com/skis/anthem

Watch the vid. Garret Russell slays the wooden wall thing, and the regular wallride. Dude's so good with the unorthodox. I would also like to draw attention to how nicely shaped the takeoffs to those features are for our friends at Meatheads. Now some takeoffs like that would probly help me learn more tricks than all the airbags in the world.
