With the snow we received Monday and more snow in the forecast Camelback plans to resume operations on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 9am to 4:30pm. We will be offering $25 lift tickets for all ages Thursday through Sunday. Continue checking skicamelback.com for more details.
Corona Beach Party Weekend.
Saturday enjoy the sounds of Parrot Beach in the Thirsty Camel.
Corona will be on hand in the Thirsty Camel to give away a board on Saturday and tons of other swag throughout the weekend.

I want to make the trip to CB for a powder day tomorrow, but with snow forecasted I'm thinking the Sullivan and Stevenson will be shut down because of (drumroll please) snow... They close the lifts for any stupid reason and not being able to ride the mountain in a snowstorm would be f^ckin' stupid.
What do ya'll think?
I think that since you have a problem with CBK lifts that you should go to another ski area and stay there! I heard Blue Mountain is a good place for complainers!

I was on a blade-trip with a few friends up at Killington on Jan 3rd and they were spining all of their chairs and with all my years of blading experiance; I can judge the wind speed by how much my blades blow around when I'm riding the chair, and the winds were definately less than 55 mph, that is below the limit for a Poma high-speed quad, and since Killington is much higher than Camelback, the winds at Camelback must have been much lower than that.
You must have been sitting in the lodge all day! Since on 1/3 Killington had the 2nd stage of the Skyeship, Superstar quad and several other lift on wind hold for most of the day. Mad River Glen had the single chair closed all day.

I think your wind gages are a bit on the high side. Was out all day on the 3rd and never felt a gust that strong.
Sounds like you should be a meteorologist.
