  1. Sno should update their site on a daily basis including the conditions page. Today i was gonna head up in the afternoon but decided i should call to check on the conditions because i didn't believe they could be 100% open after all that rain. Sure enough the big park is closed and so is smoke. i ended up not going because i just wanted to lap the park. I would have been pretty pissed if i drove all the way there and found out that the park wasn't open.

My point is that the purpose of a conditions page on a mountains website is so that people know the current conditions. Every other mountain seems to be able to update their conditions daily, so why can't sno? It might also be nice to get some pictures of the trails and the parks on a regular basis too. The most recent pics on sno's site are from last season with the exception of a few pics of the 22 foot pipe on the main page.

  2. Thanks for posting the videos.

    It's greatly appreciated.

That tabletop looks like it would be fun for spins.

How may feet from lip to landing?

    The pipe looks great too.

I like the jump you guys build at the top on the left.

If I lived in Scranton/Wilkes Barre,

I'd probably hit your park every day if I could.

the jump is about 5-10 feet from lip to landing. u can take it a little deep though since the landing is kinda long.

  3. Son, just keep an eye on your own *sshole around papasteeze. Seanyj made a dumb post that I corrected.

Okay, so just the facts, dy-lan: is 70 feet a "a super skinny "lane"? That's it. Can you answer that question?

it's not 70 feet. and yet it is "super skinny" for a park after they put the pipe up.

and you just better watch out for your own asshole because sno's dick is already so far up it.

  4. So don't come. Man, you sure bitch a lot. What if you discovered the width from the pipe to the woods is wider than BB's awesome park? Guess fucking what?

guess who started shit in the second post of this thread. hmm was it ski? YEAH it was. why are you such an asshole? the kid wants this event to be as good as possible and you just gotta start shit with him. grow up man!

can you explain more, I am confused. Are you saying that sno has a better jump than boulder right now?

it's sarcasm papasteez. at least i hope so.

  5. Thats kind of a cocky statement. Welcome to the world of competing, you ski what's given to you. Did you see the US Open course this year? The jumps were horrid, but the bottomline is that you need to do the best with what you got. Being able to ski anything, especially shitty features, separates skiers from the pack. I mean sure anyone can throw down on picture perfect jumps.

The point is that sno's jumps are pathetic, especially since they knocked the two semi-nice ones down to add to the pipe. it would be nice to have nice big jumps for all of the salomon pro's to put on a good show. sure you can hold a comp on little jumps, but it's not gonna be as fun and kid's aren't gonna be able to throw all their big tricks.

  6. True-dat..thanks for posting the pictures..serious stoke..do you think it will be open next weekend?

probably not. i'm sure the first time people will be allowed to ride it is after the revolution tour. and it looks like they still need a lot more snow. if the weather doesn't stay cold they could be cutting it very close.

  7. ski i think you must have been abused as a child or something. as i read through these sno mountain threads it seems like you are starting flame wars with everyone including papasteeze, jordan, kyleA and a bunch more i'm sure. you're clearly a racer and don't really belong in a park opinion thread. this thread was flame free until you came in and started with papa and then kyleA, who were both only voicing their opinions about the park and the halfpipe.

o yeah back to the halfpipe, the topic of this thread. i hope it really happens this year. it would be great to be the only ski hill on the east with a 22' pipe. but from what i saw the other day it doesn't look promising. from papasteeze's pipe illustration i would guess that there is about 1/10 of the snow required to build a proper 22' pipe piled up on spike. and the piles were only about 10 or 15 feet tall, not quite 22. and if neptune's guys aren't there to properly maintain it when needed it's going to end up like the 13' this year and last year, which isn't good. plus it doesn't seem like there is going to be near enough room on spike for a park and pipe. a 22' pipe is massive and could probably take up the whole width of the trail. i noticed that the 13' pipe has hardly any flat bottom. it just goes from one wall right in to the next. if the 22 footer is made with a similar lack of flat bottom it would be impossible to ride. my advice would be to do it right or don't do it at all. a rushed pipe would be a huge waste of time and money.

  8. Where would they put it? Spike already has a park on it, Switch is used for racing, Whistler has no lights. The NF trails would be suicidal, and Runaway/Fast Track are too valuable IMO. (and, their upper sections aren't too much steeper than mainline).

lower runaway or fast track would be perfect trails for a nice jump line. they have a perfect slope and they're not too crowded, especially fast track. from what i've seen this year there is such high traffic on mainline and spike that those trails are not suitable for a terrain park. a lot of beginners crowd the trails and get in the way making it much more dangerous. it would be great to implement park passes for next year to keep congestion in the parks down.
